Hello comic artists!

When I printed my first trade paperback in THE MALEVOLENT series I asked 4 artists that I knew to contribute original pin-ups based around my characters to be printed in the back of the book. When time came for Book 2 to get to the printers, I decided to hold a pin-up art contest on myspace where I would choose 5 winners and publish their pin-ups in the back of that book. Suprisingly enouth, many artists showed a lot of interest but never followed through with it. In the end I only recieved "6" entries and because these 6 individuals decided to actually send me something, I decided to print them all. That's not to say that the work they sent in wasn't good and I just used them because of lack of competition.

Well I am working on Book 3 as we speak and I find it exciting to think that maybe a grand few of talented artists on comicspace might want to contribute and enter the contest this time.

So get out your pencils and pens and take a quick glance through my Malevolent galleries. Check back soon for I am going to post a gallery of characters studies to draw from. You can head on over to The Malevolent page at: www.feralcomix.com right now and read up about all the major characters in the saga and choose from those. No one says you only have to draw one character either. You may like a scene from the comic and want to draw that. Who knows?

Here are the details of the contest: First off, there is no money involved...you have to do this for three reasons: 1. You've never had your work printed and this may be your big chance! 2. This is a free and easy way to get your name out there---free advertisment (because Oh Yeah, I always include a short bio, contact info and links to the artists works online with every pin-up I print to bring you more fans) and 3. You just really dig The Malevolent and want to put your own stamp on it!

The pin-ups will be the average comic book size 15X10 and printed in greyscale. You can use any medium you like (in fact, being different helps! I want diversity in these drawings---don't think that if your style is more cartoony or something that I won't dig it. I want to see you do YOUR version of the characters.)

The deadline for this contest will be September 1st but don't pretend like you have all this time to do it because most artists think that way and then forget or run out of time. Take that motivation you feel right now and start working on it. When you are done, just post it in a gallery on your page and let me know to go and check it out.
