Hi, everyone. I'm currently working on a title called The Hookah Girl and Other True Stories: Growing up Christian Palestinian in America It's rather memoir-y although I do touch on politics and the current situation in the Middle East outside of my personal existence. At any rate, I have an ongoing site that I update weekly at: http://hookah-girl.margoyle.netI also have a site with my general work, although it's very neglected because of my current project: http://www.margoyle.netIf anyone is interested...The Hookah Girl vol. 1 has been successfully completed and I am selling copies. It's 38 pages, black and white interior, color cover, and is $5. If you'd like to purchase one, I've set up a shop. I've received two grants to cover its printing costs. I'm very, very grateful and I hope everyone enjoys it. -I'm still a foodie! Food, here I come!

Thanks for the add. Your hookah stuff seems very cathartic. hoo-kah, I really like the word. Also, thought the add motif stuff is genius. Keep it up. Strength to all your projects. |

Thanks for the add, and you're totally welcome. It'd be glib to simply say your work just kicks ass, but if I did say it, you'd know what I mean. But I must confess that I thought the cylinder was just some sort of flask (you could have both been thirsty) - it was your reply to Burningfencepost the alerted me to the sufficiently refreshed reality. Oh, and although I haven't played video games for ten - no - eleven years now, I've recently started having recurring dreams about doing so... Sonic,if you were wondering (which I've never played),and Elite (which I wasted 36/100ths of my predicted lifespan playing).
So just what is it that makes Edsels so fantabulous? 1 Reply [ Latest posted on July 8th, 2007 8:27 PM ]

Oh that's okay. The blue cylinder IS pretty abstract, I can't say I blame you.
Edsels are the most ridiculous cars ever and were completely style but no substance. I already like the tank-like "futuristic" cars of the 50s, and Edsels just take it to the next level of awesome. Oh man. Edsels are great.... just keep them away from me. |

The paper doll. Hmm. Very interesting take on how you see your self, and how others might see you. I like it. |

Your work reminds me why I love comics. They are as versatile as prose and film, they are, they are, they are.
Good job!
What's the deal with the large blue cylinder? 1 Reply [ Latest posted on May 17th, 2007 8:04 AM ]

Sorry it's taken me so long to respond, it's been a hectic couple of weeks... But thanks so much! I really appreciate when people point out that I'm trying to be "different" but don't point it out in a negative way. The thing is that most think it's different when it's really not, because, as you've said, prose and film (and not to mention many other forms of art) have already been doing it for a while now. Oh, and the large blue cylinder you speak of is a fake Mega Man arm. I'm a bit of a closet video game fan. ~Margo |
