Bulletin: Hey you!

Well, as my Christmas gift to all of you friends who keep watching me and stuff, I prepared a nice surprise.

Anyone remember when I told about Front?
Front is a brazilian almost-indie album featuring many great names of the indpeendent universe around here. Itīs a magazine made by a group of people over an email group and a website.
We determine deadlines, themes and etc, then the work begins.

The latest issue, themed DREAM, will most likely be released in January. Itīll feature two shot tales which I illustrated, but the big deal is that my comic "Us - Dream Sequence" was not chosen in the final cut for being too long, although very appreciated.

If youīll remeber, I did a comic called Dream sEquence I back in 2005, with 5 pages. For Front, along with the different page format (landscape) I chose to redraw it all, and began a big sequential journey. It ended up as a 8 double-paged silent story. I loved the result, itīs one of my best works so far.

Also, if you get the pages all together, they can be read as a single-paged story with almost 6 meters in length.

Iīll post here all the process of this story, from the early sketches to the pencils and then, inks.
Also, if I can get it to work, a small but readable version of the one-paged monster.

Even tough it wasnīt published in Front, the comic (the single-pages monster) is exposed here in Campinas in an exhibition that gathers the rejected artists of the 14th Contemporary Art Expo of 2007.
Actually, itīs more like the really best from that expo, since they chose the WORST and most bizarre pieces of shit they could, letting a whole bunch of phenomenal artists thinking theyīre crap.

But well, itīs CONTEMPORARY ART, so anything goes.
But as far as Iīm concerned, a comic story with that sequential narrative, with the 6 meters in length, is very contemporary to me.

Anyway, very soon, youīll be able to judge by yourselves.
Hoep you all have nice weeks and a marvelous holyday season!!

Best,
Mario Cau
