| Bulletin: | This is a 25 page preview of Death Hawk: The Soulworm Saga, an upcoming 135 page graphic novel that features artwork by Adam Hughes, Rik Levins and Darryl Banks. The cover is by Darryl and Melissa Martin. Even though I've created a number of properties, like the long-running Outlanders series for Gold Eagle as well as writing mini-series about beloved characters like Doc Savage, for some reason Death Hawk and his protoplasmic partner Cyke, have remained among my favorite creations. Everything that became trademarks of my later work, both in comics and prose can be found in Death Hawk--a wise-ass but hard-luck hero, friendship, larger than life villains, adventure in wild, exotic places and of course... ...The beautiful babe, the femme fatale. I've been informed that Joss Whedon's Firely was inspired by some aspects of Death Hawk. Hope you like it and keep 'em flyin'. |
