Header: Nosferatu: Plague of Darkness GN preview!
Bulletin: I just posted the first chapter of the 120-page graphic novel, Nosferatu: Plague of Terror.

This was originally published in 1991-92 as a four-part limited series. The artwork in the first chapter is by the under-rated Rik Levins, who holds the record for penciling the most consecutive issues of Captain America than any other artist.

At the time Nosferatu: Plague of Terror was written, the effete Anne Rice type of vampire was in vogue, and I wanted to present a vampire of the folkloric tradition...a return to the "real" vampire so to speak...nasty, ugly, smelly and a bringer of plague.

Definitely not a creature a woman with any common sense would have sexual fantasies about.

Although the plot was connected to Murnau's silent film (a prequel and a sequel, so to speak), I came up with an origin for Baron Graf Orlock, the Nosferatu, seperate and distinct from Dracula.

Although writing a horror tale was a bit of a departure for me,
the mini-series was critically well-received and sold very well. Since its original appearance, it has been included in reference works about vampires in popular culture.

With the release of the film Shadow of the Vampire, interest in Nosferatu was revived.

A year or so ago, I entered negotiations with a director who wanted to option the storyline for feature film development. Although we couldn't come to terms, I realized that horror stories featuring classic elements never truly go out of style.

So, all of the chapters of Nosferatu: Plague of Terrorwill be collected in one volume and printed as a graphic novel.

Also...due to several requests, I've added more pages to the Lakota graphic novel gallery.

As time goes on, I'll be posting previews of The Miskatonic Project: The Whisperer In Darkness and [b/]The New Justice Machine.[/b]

Also, since I've received several questions about them, I'll probably post some excerpts from some my work on licensed properties like The Wild, Wild Westand Doc Savage.

And though this isn't directly comics-connected...the 42nd novel in my Outlanders SF adventure series will appear this coming May...the tenth anniversary...although in actuality it's been eleven years since I started writing the first novel.

With the current state of the publishing industry and taking into account that Harlequin has spent tens of dollars promoting Outlanders over the last decade, I hope I can be forgiven for taking a certain amount of pride in its longevity.

Thanks for the interest!
