This page seems to be settling into a role as a satellite or annex to my blog, Legion Abstract. It's about superheroes in general and the Legion of Super-Heroes in particular, and I like to pretend that it's worth a read. I don't update it daily, but I do update it regularly: I review every Legion comic that comes out, and every episode of the animated series, and I try to do so promptly. I try to profile at least one Legionnaire a month, and to write at least one other substantial article a month. I've tried to track down Legion fans all over ComicSpace and add them to my friends list, but I may have missed some. So if that sounds like you, please Befriend me. One of the purposes of the Legion Abstract is to advocate that DC restore the other two versions of the Legion into active continuity, alongside the one that's there now. For more on this notion, see these articles: The Legion Manifesto, Part 1The Legion Manifesto, Part 2: Cheaper Than TherapyIn case anyone's interested, I used to have another blog, Sliced Bread 2. It's a novel, written in blog form, about a guy who becomes a superhero's personal assistant. It's a little tough to navigate, and if I had to do it over I'm sure I could find lots of things to improve, but overall I'm proud of it.

I enjoy your Legion commentaries....Do you have any plans of doing them for the entire run of the series? If you made them detailed enough and searchable, it would be like finally having a Legion Encyclopedia Galactica! I wish we Legion fans would get our acts together and finally do a real Encyclopedia of the Legion Universe! I know I'd be willing to contribute if it became a group effort! I guess first we'd have to create a FORM so that the indexing would be consistent and complete...... 1 Reply [ Latest posted on February 13th, 2008 9:50 PM ]

For detail like that you want to check out the Legion Wiki (there's a link from my blog if you can't find it). It's not complete but it will be someday.
The only things I'm committing to on my blog are a) reviewing every Legion comic that comes out from now until I stop, assuming I ever do, and b) individually profiling each Legionnaire. Anything else - and there will be other stuff - is extra. |

Thanks for the comment... when I said Waid was playing it safe I was referring more to how Waid is being a little reluctant in the plot momentum department, but your answer was interesting, anyway :-D |

Thanks for adding me on my first day! Even before my profile was set up, as it is now ... with some links you might find of interest, for winged art, fanart, and fanfiction.
I've enjoyed your well-phrased and articulate blog! |

I really dig your Legion blog, man... it's really thoughtful and insightful. Do you feel that Waid is playing it a little too safe in the new series? I just get this sensation with i read Supergirl/LSH that Waid's shuffling his feet instead of doing something really dynamic... This could be since he received so much praise for Kingdom Come and Empire he's afraid of screwing up his rep (or because Legion fans can be quite critical--and he had his hand in the lackluster 94 reboot)... He even said in an interview that he was afraid of using Mordru and messing it up... I love his writing, and I'm THRILLED that Mon-El is back, but there are times that I feel that alot more plot should have been established for a book going into it's 3rd year. I'm interested in your thoughts on this. |

Glad you are enjoying the syposium, and already contributing. That is the best (and only) way to keep that good thinbg growing. You know others who have opinions and ideas worth sharing? Invite them to come by and read what you have posted. Before long, they'll be posting as well.
Thanks. |
