About me: I had a short, temporarily successful stint as a sprite comic author. Unfortunately I was young and retarded, seeing enemies in everyone and desperately seeking approval... So, a teenager. After burning several bridges and retreating into a corner to angst myself into oblivion, I started getting back into comic books. I hadn't really picked them up seriously since I was a kid. Hell, the defining comic book storylines of my childhood were the Spider-Man Clone Saga and X-Men: Age of Apocalypse (which I understand in some circles is bad, but I don't see why :P). Nowadays I can be considered a better fan, though, owning most of the must-have graphic novels and collecting runs of things. And of course, as most people it seems, after reading so many of these great stories I got the urge to make my own. So here I am, in the process of getting any of my writing ideas on paper, and trying to build up my drawing skills for a little possible cartooning. If I ever get anything concrete started, I guess this place will be the first to know. And the guy in my pic is me in a really lame costume I designed for myself as "Matt Man." .Most .original .name .ever! bendbomemb (BENDBOMEMBS, GOTTA CATCH 'EM ALL!) Clone Saga FanNote: I need a sexy and brooding picture of myself on the toilet or something for the portrait. Note: Internet, why do you call me by another guy's name while I try to make love to you?

Hi there! We’re starting up this year’s Small Press Idol…and wanted to invite you to the grand unveiling of this year’s Guidelines. I apologize for the all-in-one nature of this. At this time, individuals and teams have a little over a month to get things together and be ready to post their Round 1 entries. Round 1 will last till March 25th. It’s a solid window to get a project together and qualified for Round 2 past our judge panel. If you are interested in being a contestant, this is fair warning to get a project going! If you are a news outlet or resource of any sort, we invite you to help spread the word about Small Press Idol, and get on the official Sponsors and Supporters list on the Idol Main Page. Traditionally, the page has gotten hundreds of thousands of hits a month for the 5 months the contest runs. All we ask in return for the link placement on our prominently placed list, is a link back in some way that is fairly prominent, and that you indeed cover the contest if you are a news site. You can contact us about that right from the guidelines page. Just want to watch the show? That’s great! Now is time to sign up at the site so you can VOTE in the rounds to come, and post comments about your favorites! We’re expecting hundreds of contestants this year. It should be a lot of fun!

Hope this message reaches you in the spirit it was intended, you are welcome to ask questions, and otherwise make sure this is for real. This is the fourth year for the SPI. Last year’s contest pages are still online. So that’s what this is about, hope it interests you!

You aren't the first person to ever come introduce themselves to me whose name is Matthew Ryan. They're stalking me. THEY'RE STALKING ME! 1 Reply [ Latest posted on December 16th, 2006 3:54 AM ]

It's nice to be wanted, even if it is in that wear your skin like a suit and tuck their dangling bits between their legs kinda way. |

Well, Ant-Man is my favorite comic. After that, I just picked a few that I would like to give shout outs for. |
