Hello fellow comic heads! My name is Matt and I am thrilled to join Comic Space! I am a freelance artist, publisher and writer (I guess) and am tied to a handful of products and organizations. Below are the comic associated projects...

My first published work would be my Bigger romantic comedy series. This story has grown with me. The story of poor Will Rison and his ultra harsh coming of age. The story takes the elements of a unsure "Peter P.", a growing "Bruce B." a thumb of the nose at "Archie A." with a healthy mix of "American Pie" type humor. The first issue, the Bigger One-shot was a huge hit and warranted a reprint graphic novel called Bigger: Big Blow-up. A four issue limited series followed that initial one-shot and that too was reprinted in digest form as Bigger: Tempting Miss Teri. Summer 2006 saw the newest Bigger adventure, Bigger: Working Stiff and Summer 2007 will bring Bigger: The Start of Something Big. I believe these two manga sized graphic novels are my best work yet from the Bigger story.

Summer 2006 I was fortunate enough to get chosen to do the pencil and ink chores on a story in the first issue of Guild Works Productions Psychosis. This was a great experience. I was lucky enough to be paired up with writer, Bob Sodaro, and watched over by creative guru, Mark Mazz. This story was reviewed very well and continues to reward. UPDATE! We are reuniting for a prequel in PSYCHOSIS #3!

My most current comic work would be the pencils on Radbu's second comic book title, Unhappy Gran'ma (Coming Summer 2007 to a comic book store near you) This book will follow the Super-heroic mis-adventures of an 80 year-old woman who is very 'unhappy' about all of the crime around her... and she's NOT gonna take it anymore! Armed with her Irish wit, a pair of handguns and an even bigger pair of military combat boots, Granny is out to set things 'right' in her city of Boston, Mass. Created by Tom Van Zandt, written by Markellus Ragans and Van Zandt. I feel like this is the best comic art I have done to date!

Free Lunch Comics is publishing a new anthology of supernatural tales called "Only in Whispers" by Steve Kanaras. He is writing most of the stories and I'm going to be drawing one of them! Following the Supernatural theme of only in whispers, we are soliciting your True tales of brushes with the Supernatural. Have you ever met a ghost? Had an eerie feeling of being visited by a Spirit? Had a confrontation with a power you could not understand? Please share it with us! We will be publishing a letter column with tales from our fans. Just about everyone has a story, so please share yours with us and it may just see print.

I am a proud member of the Greater Hartford Arts Council's Master Teaching Artists and the Granby Artists Association. I am also on the Farmington Valley Art Center (FVAC) faculty and have been since 2001. I have been teaching Drawing & Painting for Teens and Cartooning/Comic art (of course!)
