| Header: | New Schedule for Max And The Gorilla Goon Squad! | ||
| Bulletin: | Hello everyone, Sorry for the long delay in getting any sort of news up, but I’ve had a really bad week with not feeling well. For an entire week I have lacked energy and just felt totally under the weather, so needless to say nothing has been done. But it has given me good time to think a few things over, in particular the way that Max And The Gorilla Goon Squad is produced. For nearly a year now I have tried to maintain a decent schedule of at least two pages a week, which has been quite tough. The long hours required to maintain this schedule have always ended up taking their toll on me and I’ve ended up dropping pages because of it. When I feel good and healthy I just soldier on and get the work done, no matter what the hours. But it all inevitably reaches a point where it gets too much, especially if other life stuff happens as well, and then I feel that I’m not giving my best and, as happened last week, I get sick. I LOVE producing Max And The Gorilla Goon Squad and never want to feel that I ‘have’ to get the next page out just to stick to my schedule, because when that happens it gets rushed and I don’t enjoy the process much either. So after what I mentioned in a previous post, I have decided to make Max And The Gorilla Goon Squad monthly. Does this mean only one page a month? Most certainly not! What it does mean is that I can present my story to you in a manner that I am far more comfortable with. My idea is to produce a ‘chapter’ each month, containing any number of pages. The amount of pages per chapter will be determined by the story itself (I don’t want to limit myself). I’m hoping I will have more ‘freedom’ to work in this manner and be able to create a work schedule that is a lot easier to maintain than the current one. Hopefully I can spend a lot more time on the pages as well, thus improving everything all around. Through the month I will keep you updated with progress reports and images, as well as many other ideas that I have in mind. This has taken a lot of thought and I really do not want to let any one down, but it is something that I need to do, I need to see if it works. I first thought of doing this when I first started producing this webcomic but felt it wouldn’t work as no other webcomics do this. I feel that I CAN make it work and I’m willing to give it a try. I know webcomics, and websites in general, all try their best to generate as much regular traffic as possible by having regular updates and new content, and I could be hurting my numbers here, but I have a feeling I can make this work and my numbers should remain strong. Thank you so much for all your support thus far and I hope you will stick with me with this new schedule. Be assured, I WILL try my best to always produce a quality comic for you to enjoy.:) Take care, -Kev Oh yeah, I will update you all tomorrow when the new schedule will take effect and when the next new page will be up. |
