hello! i'm meg. a few months ago, i lost my shitty day job thanks to budget cuts, and with the support of my family and a paying opportunity, i've more-or-less jumped headlong into this comics nonsense. and i'm loving it. i have one webcomic and several top-secret projects on the way. here's hoping 2008 kicks ass. deviantart accountwebcomic: first kingdom on hiatus right now, but this thing landed me work, so you better believe it'll be back. sketch journal updated as time allows website: shatterlands

first kingdom
black and white ongoing webcomic, set squarely in the fantasy genre, with a smattering of undead, coarse language, and the occasional adult situation.

spandex et al.
pretty much? fanart, with a focus on superheroes, but including my favorite manga, game, and indy characters.

Damn! I looked through more of your artwork today and it's brilliant. You have "manga" as one of your tags but I get a real european feel from it. Maybe a blend of the two. Or I could just be a moron. :)
Waiting for you to enter a Ten Ton Sketch Challenge and kick some butt. 2 Replies [ Latest posted on January 20th, 2007 2:36 AM ]

thank you!
you're not a moron. i've been getting more of a "that's not manga" reaction to my work in the last few years. but manga was my first taste of comics outside spandex and archie. i didn't know there was an independant market till college. and european comics? pffft. europe never had COMICS. europe never progressed past the start of america (or so says my meager education).
still, what little i've seen of european comics, i've loved.
those sketch challenges are a bit intimidating. on the digital one, do you have to DRAW on the computer as well, or can it just be colored that way? |

The digital challenge only has to have SOME digital in it. Colors would qualify. I still think you would clean up in the traditional SC.
Check out these euro artists, they remind me of your stuff in a way: Andreas Martens Enki Bilal and a bit of Jean Giraud (Moebius) |
