Hey, thanks for the Befriendification! Speaking as the creator of a mostly 4Grid+Joke webcomic, I agree that webcomics can, and should be more. And I appreciate that you Befriend both traditional and alternative styles! Melee on!

Thanks Doctor...

I love the four panel grid comic but I feel that there is room for all of us in the big wide world of comics.

Thanks for the comment!

Thanks for the befriendification. I'll have to check out some of your stuff.

Hey Melee! Thanks for the Befriendification, had a peruse of some of the stuff you have on your page, and it's amazing! Awesome writing and art, I think I chuckled out loud to Chaos! PHD :)

Keep up the awesome work!

Thanks for the add. I totally agree that "webcomics should be more than a 4 panel grid with a joke at the end."

I'm honestly amazed how entrenched webcomics has become. It's only been a decade and now there's a "right" and "wrong" way to do webcomics. Just amazing :P

Oh you should check out http://www.positivebrand.net/. They're doing similar stuff to what you guys are doing.

I don't want to sound like I am better than anyone... I will read pvp or ctrlalt-delete if the mood strikes me but you hit the nail on the head.

I just don't see a lot of webcomics out there doing non-serialized "comic books" and I think there is an underserved audience for it.

I will definitely check out positive brand when I get a chance.

Thanks

I don't know about hard bound yet but we will definitely be giving it the print treatment at some point in the future.

Please throw it on your favorites if you are so inclined I would love for more people to know about it and read it.

03/23/2007 (Friday)

I'm going to start leaving blog posts in our comments for prosperity.

We've just finished the guts and cover for CHAOS! Phd. and are moving on to complete the additional seven page story that will be available in the print version of the comic. I don't want to give to much away but the additional story will involve the retrival (by some particularly agile waterfowl) of Chaos! from deep space.

Next on the hitparade will be getting the hard copies of the book printed. We will be trying to keep the cost on the books (including shipping) to around $5 so that anyone will be able to afford to read the addtional story.

Lastly I wanted to announce an upcoming contest. On the back cover of Chaos we will be printing a couple of soundbites of critical acclaim for the book. We would also like to include ONE and only one comment from a fan about the book. We always like to get feedback about the book but the best comment (about a sentence long) recieved from today until the printing of the book (late May early June) will be printed on and shipped with every book sold.

So get to it...

Very cool cover. I agree with the need for something attention grabbing and this certainly fills the order. And there's penguins!

Birth is looking really good. I suggest that everyone check out the preview and make sure to buy it if/when you like what you see.

Yeah it is nice to connect up with some of our good Myspace friends on comicspace! This is certainly going to be the place to be as they get more options available for us.

Everyone buy "Alterna Comics"... right after you buy Melee merchandise of course.

We are only offering digital versions of the comics for now but early next year we should be releasing print versions of both Roscoe Porter and Chaos!.

For now we are focusing on putting out the best product possible and building a loyal fanbase through the website.

Thanks for the question... I'm planning on putting hatercast on my iPod first thing when I get home tonight.
