Draws stuff, writes stuff. Drawn pretty much every DC character and many at Marvel. Started with 2000AD where I drew Judge Dredd, Slaine and Rogue Trooper... and still do when I get the chance! Currently- Doctor Who Magazine, Matthew Daemon for Weekly World News, Varg Veum for the Norwegian market. Also lotsa storyboards for pre-school animation shows, and Star Trek bookcovers for Simon & Schuster. And other stuff. I've got a MySpace at: http://www.myspace.com/dafreakhouseand a poorly maintained website at: www.freakhousegraphics.comRecently added a Deviant Art Gallery of mainly non-comics stuff at: www.mikecollins.deviantart.com

It might well have been Evans Halshaw their old manager was a big Marvel fan (I used to write their radio copy).
One day I hope to have you do a cover for one of books Mike. 1 Reply [ Latest posted on April 27th, 2007 3:07 PM ]

Action Force Holiday Special Snake Eyes cover! One of the most iconic childhood memories and a key reason I love comics. I salute you sir. Must start saving to get you to do a cover on one of my books, I'd die and go to heaven 1 Reply [ Latest posted on April 26th, 2007 3:16 PM ]

Hi there! We’re starting up this year’s Small Press Idol…and wanted to invite you to the grand unveiling of this year’s Guidelines. I apologize for the all-in-one nature of this. At this time, individuals and teams have a little over a month to get things together and be ready to post their Round 1 entries. Round 1 will last till March 25th. It’s a solid window to get a project together and qualified for Round 2 past our judge panel. If you are interested in being a contestant, this is fair warning to get a project going! If you are a news outlet or resource of any sort, we invite you to help spread the word about Small Press Idol, and get on the official Sponsors and Supporters list on the Idol Main Page. Traditionally, the page has gotten hundreds of thousands of hits a month for the 5 months the contest runs. All we ask in return for the link placement on our prominently placed list, is a link back in some way that is fairly prominent, and that you indeed cover the contest if you are a news site. You can contact us about that right from the guidelines page. Just want to watch the show? That’s great! Now is time to sign up at the site so you can VOTE in the rounds to come, and post comments about your favorites! We’re expecting hundreds of contestants this year. It should be a lot of fun!

Hope this message reaches you in the spirit it was intended, you are welcome to ask questions, and otherwise make sure this is for real. This is the fourth year for the SPI. Last year’s contest pages are still online. So that’s what this is about, hope it interests you!

It was great to meet you- although briefly - at the Birmingham show last month. I hope you had a good time, and can make it to our next bash in September.

'Ello Mike - Thanks a lot for the add - I had the pleasure of being one of the hapless folio session monkeys at the Brumcon: the guy you likened to Peter Snejbjerg. I just wanted to say thanks a lot for not slagging me off and kicking me off the stage! ;) |
