I am a professional colorist, letterer, and web designer who hails from the icy land of Minneapolis, MN. My comics work has been seen at Capstone Press (several books), Dork Storm Press (Dr. Blink and Dork Tower), and Green Ronin (Mutants and Masterminds). Samples of my work can be seen at my web site, Tin Lizard Productions.

Aside from comics, I love bad movies, difficult-listening music, gadgets, aquariums, impulsive travel, zombies, Godzilla, and my partner-in-crime Christopher Jones.

PROJECT NEWS

Dr. Blink: Superhero Shrink: (Updated 3/11/07) The Dr. Blink trade paperback is in stores now! Look for it at your friendly neighborhood comics shop, or order it online here.

The trade paperback contains full copy of issues #0-#3, plus the Dork Tower backups, Mutants and Masterminds stats, new pages, short stories, and random goodies!

Meanwhile, we have two new Dork Tower backups on the drawing table.

Femme Noir: (Updated 2/6/08) I have completed coloring Femme Noir's Dark City Diaries issue #1, part of a four-issue miniseries to be published early this year by Ape Entertainment. The other three issues will be colored by Matt Webb, whose excellent talents will suit the project very well. More information and art samples here, full web site here.

I've also completed coloring on FN's Free Comic Book Day short, and will be coloring a few more pieces for the trade paperback.

Take a Chance: (Updated 2/6/08) I am currently working on lettering the first five issues of a comic named Take a Chance. Take a Chance has an intriguing story, featuring a normal female vigilante crimefighter, who suddenly finds herself working in a world where super-powered heroes and villains exist. Does she continue her work, or throw in the towel, now that the stakes have changed?

Wild Cards: (Updated 6/27/08) I just finished coloring 28 pieces of art for Green Ronin Publishing, for their new game supplements featuring George R.R. Martin's Wild Cards world. Green Ronin's original press release stated that they will be premiering the game at Origins this weekend, but given that the press release was done about a year ago, I'm not sure how accurate that is now. Regardless, I know they're close to release, so look for the books sometime this summer!

Hey! A fellow Capstone Press cog! Coolness. Happy New Year! (Have you noticed how many Minneapolis residents have ComicSpace pages?)

Hi, Steve!

Yeah, us Minneapolitans are all over the comics industry. Scary, no?

I must say, now that I have you online, that coloring your Mother Jones book has been one of my favorite Capstone projects. I really enjoyed working on your art!

Hi there! We’re starting up this year’s Small Press Idol…and wanted to invite you to the grand unveiling of this year’s Guidelines. I apologize for the all-in-one nature of this. At this time, individuals and teams have a little over a month to get things together and be ready to post their Round 1 entries. Round 1 will last till March 25th. It’s a solid window to get a project together and qualified for Round 2 past our judge panel. If you are interested in being a contestant, this is fair warning to get a project going!
If you are a news outlet or resource of any sort, we invite you to help spread the word about Small Press Idol, and get on the official Sponsors and Supporters list on the Idol Main Page. Traditionally, the page has gotten hundreds of thousands of hits a month for the 5 months the contest runs. All we ask in return for the link placement on our prominently placed list, is a link back in some way that is fairly prominent, and that you indeed cover the contest if you are a news site. You can contact us about that right from the guidelines page.
Just want to watch the show? That’s great! Now is time to sign up at the site so you can VOTE in the rounds to come, and post comments about your favorites! We’re expecting hundreds of contestants this year. It should be a lot of fun!

Hope this message reaches you in the spirit it was intended, you are welcome to ask questions, and otherwise make sure this is for real. This is the fourth year for the SPI. Last year’s contest pages are still online. So that’s what this is about, hope it interests you!
