Wicked cool galleries, Melissa! I hadn't checked my page for a few days and just found your bulletins about this. :-)

Hey! A fellow Capstone Press cog! Coolness. Happy New Year! (Have you noticed how many Minneapolis residents have ComicSpace pages?)

Hi, Steve!

Yeah, us Minneapolitans are all over the comics industry. Scary, no?

I must say, now that I have you online, that coloring your Mother Jones book has been one of my favorite Capstone projects. I really enjoyed working on your art!

Hi there! We’re starting up this year’s Small Press Idol…and wanted to invite you to the grand unveiling of this year’s Guidelines. I apologize for the all-in-one nature of this. At this time, individuals and teams have a little over a month to get things together and be ready to post their Round 1 entries. Round 1 will last till March 25th. It’s a solid window to get a project together and qualified for Round 2 past our judge panel. If you are interested in being a contestant, this is fair warning to get a project going!
If you are a news outlet or resource of any sort, we invite you to help spread the word about Small Press Idol, and get on the official Sponsors and Supporters list on the Idol Main Page. Traditionally, the page has gotten hundreds of thousands of hits a month for the 5 months the contest runs. All we ask in return for the link placement on our prominently placed list, is a link back in some way that is fairly prominent, and that you indeed cover the contest if you are a news site. You can contact us about that right from the guidelines page.
Just want to watch the show? That’s great! Now is time to sign up at the site so you can VOTE in the rounds to come, and post comments about your favorites! We’re expecting hundreds of contestants this year. It should be a lot of fun!

Hope this message reaches you in the spirit it was intended, you are welcome to ask questions, and otherwise make sure this is for real. This is the fourth year for the SPI. Last year’s contest pages are still online. So that’s what this is about, hope it interests you!

Hi, thanks for the add. Great website!

I'm sorry to hear you're sick, especially during the holidays. That happened to me during my freshman year of college; wiped out my entire winter break. I do hope you're feeling better, or will be feeling better soon.

I am glad to hear about the networking and the prospects. I hope those pan out.

Wow! That was fast! It's good to see you online too, Melissa. Gary told me about comicspace yesterday and I've been trying to get up to speed whenever I can find a spare moment during the rush-to-Christmas crunch! <8-0

I've been sick for the last couple days, so I've spent all my time either sleeping or online. You caught me during the online portion. *grin*

Yeah, this ComicSpace thing is like blood in the water. It's been up for about three weeks now, I've been on it for two, and I've already connected with three new prospective projects. Pretty awesome networking here.

ComicSpace doesn't have much for features yet, but they're releasing new features at the rate of one every two or three days. It's kind of neat to watch how it grows.

As a ComicSpace friend, may I ask you to help support the Museum of Comic and Cartoon Art (www.moccany.org)? Become a member today! Thanks.

Zombies, huh? Gotta love em! Do you like the Fulci films? I had to wait 20 years to see a decent uncut print of Zombi 2. ;o)

I'm actually not hot on the Fulci stuff, mostly because I don't think the man is capable of properly pacing a film. I've taken to watching his stuff mostly on fast forward. I do like a lot of the other Italian genre directors, though, like Bava and Argento. Those cats have style.

For zombies, I'm more of a Raimi/Jackson/Romero sort of girl. Zombies as a backdrop for social analysis and whatnot, with a decent helping of red karo syrup.

Gotta read Deadworld...

if you love bad movies go see Deck the Halls
