Howdy!
I'm Michal Sledzinski aka Mr Herring aka DFP aka Sledziu (Polish nickname), a writer, drawer, colorist, letterer and sometimes even the editor. I'm from Poland, where polar bears live close to the projects and people are heavy drinkers.

I got an early debut, when I was 17 years old with my "Fido & Mel" shorts, published monthly in a magazine about video games (it was published in a book in 2001 by Egmont Poland). Two years later, in 1997, with a little help from my friends from the art school I created a comic fanzin, called "Azbest". The same good people (and few more) helped me again, in December 1999 to bring first, Polish independent comics magazine, that you can buy almost anywhere in Poland. It was the "Produkt" magazine (published by Niezalezna Prasa [Independent Press]), kind of legend right know, where a lot of talented stars, good stories and funny heroes shined for long. They are still shining on our market (which is small) after the closing of magazine in 2004.

On the pages of the "Produkt" I created my most known story - "Osiedle Swoboda" ("Housing estate Liberty"), about bunch of young geeks, hanging aroung, having fun with a little bead of reflection in their minds. The story continued in a six part color mini serie published again by Niezalezna Prasa (2004 - 2006). Samples: 1, 2, 3, 4.

Since 2001, I'm publishing monthly shorts, called "8Bit" in a "Play" magazine (published by Axel Springer Poland). I continue cooperation with Axel Springer, making cartoons and ilustrations for the Polish edition of the Newsweek magazine.

Right now, I'm working on second part of a graphic novel "Na szybko spisane" ("Swiftly drawn") (first part was published 17th of March 2007 by Kultura Gniewu (Culture of anger).

In free time I'm playing video games, that's why I decided to make a cartoon blog about "Bears of War" which is a parody of the "Gears of War" video game from Epic.

Thanks for the add! I love your Swiftly Drawn...wish I understood Polish. So sad, my grandparents were from Poland and I cannot speak the language. I also really dig Bears of War! Great work!
