Mute City follows the half-lived lives of Derek and Vincent, societal villains, and the obscure underlying events that occur in their odd town.

That's the story, anyway. Mute City is largely an on-going experiment wherein Rael (the writer) and Jeremy (the illustrator) test their mettle against comic-strip standards and see what they can get away with. Since its inception, Mute City has portrayed a great deal of myth and thought as the bones for seemingly random events.

In the first major story-arc, Mute City was secretly invaded by the French-bohemian secret society, C.I.T.R.O.N. Were they really the bad guys? Why does Vincent dream of hyperborian heroics? What is the destiny the Black Dog preaches to Derek from a ghost forest? So many questions, so little agenda...
