Time for ComicSpace write-up v.3.3! (a much bigger update is on the way, butjust wanted to add a link to something very effing cool.) For those who have been following (and who hasn't? I'm an interesting futha-mucker!), every time I rewrite this section, it gets tighter and tighter, and it usually accompanies updates on my productivity. As my life gains meaning, so, then, does my ComicSpace. So, hi! I'm Joey. I live in the San Fernando Valley and I have been dreaming about a writing career ever since I can remember... Unfortunately, since no one has seen fit to hand one out to me based on the staggering weight of my charisma alone, I've decided to make one myself, and you're watching it happen. I like to tell stories. All kinds of stories, ranging from dark, noirish sci-fi to slice-of-life teen dramedy to superhero action adventure to psychological horror... and every amalgamation in between. I love to read it all and I love to write it all... and if fate had granted me the hands to bring these ideas to life, I'd love to draw it all! But I can't. I went to art school and came out a writer. I currently write comic reviews for the geektastic website, Geeks of Doom, for whom I am also tentatively conceiving another project... more on that as it develops. Meanwhile, I am also in collaboration with the very talented artist, Matt Shults, who I met right here on ComicSpace. We're working on a sci-fi miniseries, entitled The Link (galleries for which can be found to the right of this ramble), that we're hoping will catch the attention of the world at large and win us the adoration and large, large sums of money we so richly (pun?) deserve. Because, like... that's why all creative types get into comics, right? The money and the respect..? Right...? I also recently wrapped production on a short horror comic entitled Kaylee, which was drawn by Mister Shults and inked, greytoned, and basically horrored-up by another very talented artist by the name of Amedeo Turturro. The full 9-page story has been submitted to a horror anthology and we are all crossing our fingers on what we hear back about it. In the meantime, you can see a 5-page preview of the story in my galleries on the right, AND, if that's not enough for you, you can also get a sneak peek at one of the later pages (as well as a look at Amedeo's work process) HERE. I am ALSO developing a little somethin' with a little somone else... but that somethin' ain't all here yet, so I'll hold off on giving details for now... My plate is fast filling up (just like I like it) but I'd like to think I'm still available for collaborations with other artists. I have many more stories to tell, and the more creative pursuits I can fill my time with, the happier a person I'll be. Well, she and her father reconciled and he brought her back home, only a little the worse for wear. Sure, there was some adjustment needed to suit her new vampiric status, but it was nothing her daddy wasn't willing to cope with for the love of his little girl.
He even bought her a pony.
And... y'know... she ate it. But she seemed really appreciative!
