Hi, my name is Eric Nolen-Weathington, and I am the editor/designer of the Modern Masters book series from TwoMorrows Publishing (http://www.twomorrows.com). If you're not familiar with the books, or if there are some you haven't seen, I encourage you to look through the preview pages in my gallery. I think you'll like what you see.

Another long gap since my last update. Just to much to do, I guess. I’m busy working on more Modern Masters books, of course, including Vol. 20: Kyle Baker, Vol. 21: Chris Sprouse, and Vol. 22: Mark Buckingham. And once those are done, I’ve got Vol. 23: Darwyn Cooke and Vol. 24: Guy Davis to follow. I’m also very pleased to announce that I’ll be doing a book outside the Modern Masters line with my buddy Jim Amash (a professional inker as well as a fellow comics historian), which we like to call Sal Buscema: Comics’ Fast & Furious Artist! Sal often gets overlooked, but he was instrumental to Marvel’s success in the ’70s and ’80s, and we felt it was well past time he got his due. Jim and I are cooking up some other ideas as well, so stay tuned.

Nick Cardy: Behind the Art is still available. Please check it out if you have a chance. You’ll be happy you did.

And on a final note, if you like thoughtful reviews of comics and science-fiction (and a few films to boot), check out the blog of my good friend and co-author of Modern Masters Vol. 15: Mark Schultz, Fred Perry (no, he's not the manga guy), at http://www.perrynomasia.blogspot.com/.

The Modern Masters books are some of the most entertaining, enlightening, and enjoyable pieces of comics journalism I've read. Keep up the great work! (And look for my review of the Kevin Maguire edition in Tuesday's column.)

Thanks, Augie! And thanks for the kind words you've given the books over the years. I look forward to reading what you have to say about the Maguire book.
