We're a writer/artist team working on a comic called Flick Victory.

Flick Victory takes place in the near future, and focuses on Flick Ramsey, a young woman living in the culturally polarized Old Line City. When Flick discovers a secret about the death of Winged Victory, Old Line's first superhero urban legend, she takes up a heroic mantle of her own in order to solve the murder. Flick isn't surprised when her best friends offer to help out. What she doesn't expect is to learn about her parents in the process...

We feel that mainstream superhero comics don't have enough feelings, and indie comics don't have nearly enough punching, so we're trying to strike a balance between the two.

Our hope is that ComicSpace will give us some preliminary webspace to post some preview material and gain publicity for our comic before we start looking at publishers. Eventually, we hope to publish hard copies of our work as well.


About the Creators

Erika is currently studying for a BA in Classics, so in addition to writing about superheroes, she someday plans to make comics about ancient Roman women such as Clodia "Lesbia" Metelli and Agrippina Major. Her favorite comic is Darwyn Cooke's The New Frontier, and she finds endless amusement in psychoanalyzing Green Lanterns. You can catch her ramblings over at her livejournal.

Jess is on the verge of completing her BA in English; upon said completion she plans to live in a box. She's really more of a writer than an artist, but with any luck and a little razzmatazz she hopes to fake it. Her livejournal is chock full of blather and wacky comic book scans; she also runs Super. Girl., a site on the history and pop cultural significance of the Girl of Steel.
