Characters you never read , but kinda liked

I recall growing up and reading as many of the marvel handbooks or DC's who's who as possible. I ran found a huge amount of characters I never heard of but the concepts were pretty cool to me. Hellstrom, which I never read until his recent mini is an example. Moon knight and Hellcat are more examples. I never read the original stories until years later. When I finally read Moon Knight's first stories in Werewolf by Night the character had been retconned from the original... the only thing that stayed barely was the costume it seemed! But the innate imagery of the character was there. Some characters looked cool just because of the artist (whenever Gil Kane drew something) or sometimes a wacky cool concept(OMAC) that was later re imagined by an artist that knew that character better than me(anyone recall the John Byrne mini?). Hell I tend to like tech heroes. Is there any more of a tech guy than Machine Man? I never knew he was even thought of until the four part mini that came out when I was a kid. Even though I didn't like his appearances in the West coast Avengers.. that mini was awesome. I even ran across a quarter bin machine man number 1 that I had to get... loved it. Even though i enjoy the next wave comics... I kinda pretend that isn't the REAL machine man... And don't get me started on the Ms. Marvel appearance of him... I could go on(after I thumb through a few who's who) but anyone have characters like that too?
