Outlaws_Tales
![]() What is Outlaws Tales and what the hell is it about? Outlaws Tales is a 3d Webcomic, set in a Sci Fi Western genre. Its a traditional good vs. bad story, but there are flawed characters, especially the lead one. The overall plotline is undercover so you'll have to read the comic online at http://www.outlaws-tales.com but theres twists and turns that will unfold as you read, so head on over and subscribe to the RSS feed!! How is it created? It's created using 3d software called Maya along with Zbrush and also Photoshop - these bits of software allow for more creative freedom and above all, style - 'theres no Poser software in these parts!'. I'm actually a freelance 3d artist for TV and other media during the day so creating a 3d comic using the tools of the trade is a no brainer to me. How did you get the idea? The idea of Outlaws started way back in 1997 with a single 3d image I did for an evening class at college which then later got published in Computer Arts magazine. After passing that course and then getting to work for nearly 5 years on a well known British 3d comic strip called Striker which still features in The Sun newspaper today, I decided it was time to do my own thing. As much as I enjoyed working on Striker (though it certainly had its moments), I always felt stifled creatively as it wasn't my 'baby' so every evening after work armed with a pencil and sketch pad I set to work and began production on Outlaws - sometimes very late into the night. The first sketches and rough draughts of Outlaws began back in 2002/2003. I did release an early 3d version in 2004 but hauled it back in as it just wasnt good enough in the 3d department. It wasn't of a good standard, well not the type I wanted anyway, there were elements stylistically that reeked of working on Striker - that I just didn't want it to have. So after spending another 2 years re-developing it and refining my 3d art skills, its now at a level that I can say, 'yeah its good enough'! There's still loads to be done and still tons of room for improvement but it will all come together I can assure you. The process has been slow going since the initial release of Outlaws because of time constraints and work, but it is still all being produced, just not as quick as I'd like...so I sincerely apologies for infrequent updates. Please feel free to head over to its main site http://www.outlaws3d.com and view the work being produced. Enjoy Outlaws_Tales's BulletinsDisplaying 1-7 of 7 bulletins...
