In terms of what I read, I'm very selective and tend to be loyal to my own interests. If a particular writer or artist takes on another title, I'll follow along because I appreciate the work they do. That's the easy part.

The difficult part? No, it isn't choosing which titles to read. At least not for me.

No, the tough part is when a title you know and love is going along beautifully and the creative team changes. Sometimes it works, sometimes it does not. This year the trend seems to focus on beginning again. Beloved characters leaving, new characters picking up the torch. Such is real life, and a great comic is often times grounded in reality.

I'm not very big on jumping on an "I hate" bandwagon. There's enough voices being negative and I don't care to be associated with them. It's more educational to find something good in a storyline and focus on that. I can handle bad art vs. bad writing any day. Thankfully, the regular titles I read have nailed down great talent in every department so I need not drag out this point. Plus, there's some fascination in learning about new characters and seeing how they interact within an established world/environment.

Favorite Writers: Gail Simone, Ron Marz, Brad Meltzer, Steve Niles, David Wohl to name a few.

Favorite Artists: Ed Benes, Jim Balent, Eric Basaldua, Scott Benefiel, Dan Brereton, J.G. Jones, Greg Land, Nicola Scott ... again to name a few, but not nearly all.

Favorite Titles: Birds of Prey, Witchblade, Catwoman, Criminal Macabre, G.I. Joe, The Justice League of America, Sojourn, Ultimate Fantastic Four, Ultimate Powers ... more.

Favorite Characters: Barbara Gordon, Black Canary, Jim Balent's Catwoman, Sara Pezzini, Torpedo, The Flash, Hal Jordan, Batman ... lots more.

Not all over, we don't want people to say you get around. So, how've you been? I haven't spoken to you for at least .... 3, maybe 4, minutes. :)

It's nice to hear a non-snarky outlook- on comics and life. Gail Simone is one of my fav's, for excellent writing and character development, and having groovy red hair too!
