No probs.

As soon as some slight potential to get this thing on the ground gets going I tend to make a desperate grab.

Thanks anyway.

Love the new images you've put up.

How's things going?

I'm still working at the college, but at least I'm getting to squeeze in some REAL work after hours.

Oh thats cool.

A little while back I wrote a treatment for a 24 episode animated series for a guy at Fox Kids, but he left before I finished it so it's kind of in the air at the moment. I was trying to get a little test reel made for it using a mix of 2D and 3D stuff, so that I could really start showing it around.
Not sure it's your kind of thing, and plus it's not like we know each other that well, but if you wanted to have a look at it when you get a break in whatever your doing let me know.

It's a kind of Japanese style giant monster story, only a little more cynical/sarcastic. So nothing subtle.

Sounds really cool :) But unfortuinately, for me to do animation of that standard takes seriously back-breaking hours. With the sort of life I've got at the moment I wouldn't be able to do even a short sample without full time payment or a good creative team working for me :/

Such is the shame with animation. I'm not too keen to get back into the production side when I've got comics as an alternative outlet. I'd love some sort of visual-director type role, but I'm guessing that's the sort of thing you can only get with a lot of reccomendation or a lot of experience.

Nice work. The animation looks great. Haven't had a chance to watch the full piece but the stills alone look great.

Is it your classical cell animation or do you use any 3D stuff?

:) Thanks so much.
The piece is actually a mix of classic cell (well, not so much cell as pencil on cartridge paper), and 3D environments created on maya and textured by hand to give them an illustrative look.

Well hello, always bumping into each other.

So do I call you Custard or Fudge?

Hello,

So when you say 'vintage' what kind of era are we talking about? Any particular genre?

I've got a soft spot for 50's sf.

Nah, I had to give up on Forbidden Planet and cancelled my order.

My brother-in-law works up in London and he picked up a handfull of issues in Orbital (?) Comics. That sound right? He said when he went back in the other day they only had one left on the shelf. Which is good. Unless he's bought them all. But then in money terms that's still good.

I'm completey new to MySpace, can you only respond once to a comment? I couldn't seem to reply to your reply. Humour me, I'm like a pensioner with a VCR, no idea.

Guess it's just the one reply per comment. Keeps things tidy I guess :-)

Yeah, Orbital stocked us. Lot more to sell yet though, desperately need to sort out the Forbidden Planet side of things.

Finally got my copies of Flame and Fury.

For some reason I don't think I actually read it when it was online but it's really good. I'm not just blowing smoke I genuinly thought it was an excellent issue.

And it's sooooo cool having your work in something you can hold.

It's arrived?! Is this ordered via Forbidden Planet? Only the other day they were claiming they hadn't received the stock (that's what customer services advsied Keith anyway).

Glad you like it anyway!
