Hello.

In short, I bring nothing to the party. I don't write, can't draw, in fact I probably can't even ink, and that's just tracing. I buy a lot of comics and that's my sole contribution to the community.

I suck.

Still, as talking about comics to people that are not interested is becoming tiresome for both them and me, I thought I'd try and find some like minded people right here. The ultimate aim being to get the UK based people together for a comic book inspired drinking binge. We can do fun things like argue about who is the best Green Lantern/Flash/Doctor Who, whilst someone else devotes the entire evening to slagging off Rob Liefield. I believe that's how these things are supposed to work.

£10 says at least one fat bloke comes dressed as Wonder Woman.

Comics I'm reading right now:

Ex Machina
Fables
Astonishing X-Men
Civil War
100 Bullets
Invincible
The Boys
Y: The Last Man
Daredevil
Captain America
Batman
Lots of others

I grew up with the X-men, but then the 90's happened and I lost track of how many Summers brothers there were, who was dead that month and whether Professor X could walk or not. Plus there was Gambit. Who on earth thought that wearing pink and sounding French would be cool? (I'm English, so I hated the French before it was fashionable)

I do of course have loads of ideas for comics, but like so many others, lack the time/commitment/talent/experience to do anything about it. Plus my ideas, like so many others are probably derivative/rubbish/half baked/idiocy.

Have a good day

Hey, Mister Preacher man! I'm a big Garth Ennis fan so I thought I'd pop in and say hello! Happy New Year by the way, and swing by the Lounge any time

Yes we do! I'm also catching up on a lot of the same ones as you. Have just got caught up with Young Avengers - that book is very good, which was a unexpected.

Never heard of Manhunter - any good?

YA is a real treat. Love all the characters, but especially Hulkling and Wiccan. It was nice to see them XO with the Runaways, too - hope to see more of those meetings down the line. I also can't wait to see what's in store for Billy, Tommy and Wanda.

Manhunter is written by Marc Andreyko, and it is a great book that I only recently started getting into. It is mature enough to feel like a Vertigo title, except it is grounded in the traditional DC universe. Kate Spencer is a great protagonist, not your off the shelf bimbo, and the supporting characters are just as interesting.

Epsom is the armpit of Surrey. The one redeeming feature is that it's near other stuff. I couldn't wait to move away from there...

Thank you for nice comments on my page.

I have been to Thailand, down south to the islands Koh Phangan, Koh Tao, and up north to Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai on the way into Laos. Loved every minute of it. I also have two or three friends who married Thai girls and split their time between England and Thailand - seems to be a popular thing to do!

"sole contribution"? You say that as if it's a bad thing! Keep reading and spending! There are people here with kids and a chronic ink habit to support!
