I'm not really an artist; I'm a writer who needs diagrams. I've been using "graphic metafictionist" as a description of this calling, but I'm now changing it to "graphic metafictioneer," as having more of a Rafael Sabatini swagger to it.
My grandfather, Edward Pickering Parker, was the president of Parker Brothers; my great great grandfather, Edward Hegeman Parker, was a founding brother. My great great uncle, Isaac Baker Woodbury, composed (now forgotten) oratorios on patriotic themes ("Washington," "The Founding of Jamestown"). During my misbegotten youth, I contributed a number of wildly uneven cracks and slams to Giant Size Mini Comics, Ultra Klutz, Small Press Comics Explosion, The Amazing Cynicalman, Slam Bang, and other scurrilous publications. After recovering from this delinquency, I got hitched and attended Northern Arizona University. I studied Hopi, but can't remember how to say anything but "The owls arrived yesterday." Cat and I published 25 issues of "The White Buffalo Gazette," the journal of the Obscuro art movement. We also published six issues of our humor magazine, "Gorilla Cookies," which never had a circulation of more than a few dozen, but gained a slight claim to fame by being prominently displayed in the 'zine store in the motion picture, "Ghost World." Currently, Cat has a morning radio show on the Edge in Albany, New York. In 2007 I was active in the Harry Stephen Keeler society, proudly publishing an article on Keeler's novel "The Riddle of the Traveling Skull" in the latest issue of "The Keeler News." I did front and back covers (with Chad Woody) for a new issue of the White Buffalo Gazette, published by Maximum Traffic. Maximum also published a limited edition of my "The Spork of Menace." Cat and I completed three issues of a comic book series, "Rock and Roll Death Wagon." It was created under duress, as documented on the television series, "Wife Swap." The first issue is available from www.fanaticpress.com or www.poopsheetfoundation.com. Mr. Kitty Fluff will soon be experienced in the Music number of "Slam Bang," and in his own comic series, "Noble Head Funnies," both coming from the Fan-Atic Press. He is always accompanied by Black Rayed Sun, Spittoon of Hidden Delights, and all his funny friends. You can still order "Alphabet Soup Kitchen," a very funny alternative alphabet book, by me and Wayno: http://www.jabberwockygraphix.com/otherzines.html#BOHOB "Truth Be Known" is a big trade paperback of great Obscuro art and comics with several of my stories; it's $10.00 ppd. in the U. S. from Tom Rehm, 130 Short St, Butler, PA 16003. I keep a Norwegian Forest Cat. I don't have a scanner, but I've managed to photograph some cartoons with my digital camera.
