Header: Watching the Watchmen,,, updating the datum
Bulletin: I just watched the Watchmen and I was blown away by how great of an adaption this thing was from comics to film. It gives me some hope that a story more than 20 years old can successfully make it to the public eye in such a way as to make them come together and applaud a particularly stunning scene. I won't write a review here, that's not really what I do, but it definitely gives me a good feeling to go around with a goofy grin saying "I watched the Watchman!" to completely blank stares.

My monthly update is a little behind due to February being the most abrupt month in existence, and because, well, I forgot. I was also waiting for the results of a contest I had entered to be announced so that the teeming hordes of people who read my bulletins (Thanks to both of you for doing that, by the way. ;)) would not be disappointed with a more significant update on my progress as the world's greatest sequential artist. (Hey, a guy can dream, right?) It's early still in March, so on with the latest scoop on all things project Randy Bishop.

I am excited to announce that I managed, like a plane flying heavy with cargo, to make it into the contest in question. That contest? Why it's CBR's CBRunway! It is primarily geared for fashionistas, but that stuff is very important when you're trying to communicate a heroic or not so heroic ideal. So I entered for the learning experience and made it into the contest! Where I will no doubt be slaughtered by the many experienced full-time professional designers who also made it into the contest. Unless I have your support! Well, nevermind about that, just go here http://forums.comicbookresources.com/showthread.php?t=259763 to keep abreast and remember to pick your favorite, political leanings and misgivings aside.

I'm also very pleased to announce that I've decided to do another short story by Dan Rafter. The guy is very professional and succinct to interact with, and his scripts are rad like Max Headroom in 87'. (And that is no slight either- for you Gen Yers out there, put down your Nintendo DS for a second, I mean his scripts are PHAT, okay?) We may have found a publisher for Paper Piano, but that process may very well take years, unfortunately. WATCH THIS SPACE and you'll be the first to know how to acquire the volume it ends up appearing in.

I am still awaiting with baited breath a script by young master Adrian McIlroyspeed, who is a promising up and coming manganese artist and writer. I've recently met with Adrian in Berlin, and would love to assist in furthering his space-based odyssey. Although I don't really dig that manga madness, I am confident the wonderful characters he has created can resonate in other styles not unlike my own.

But after that? Well, I've decided to call it. No new projects. Nope, none. Except for my story- The Story- as it is currently being called. I feel more ready for the challenges it will present to me than ever. May God have mercy on my wrist and genetically predisposed disposition for Carpal Tunnel. Seriously, I really look forward to bringing my childhood creations to full, technicolor, twenty first century glory. Do I have any potential helpers out there?

Be seeing you.
