Follow-up on the comment below...I just realized, this painting is probably set at that specific point in LSH history just AFTER Chemical King died, (a travesty of a story), and also after Matter-Eater Lad has been "drafted" to serve in his government. You can tell, because Cosmic Boy has his later 70s costume, and Dawnstar is now a member. And about Tenzil...wasn't he the best part of the "Legionnaires" series by the Bierbaums & Chris Sprouse in the early 90s? (one of my favorite LSH runs). He was so funny & cool!

Re: that Alex Ross "70s era" LSH painting you have posted in your profile. It's gorgeous, but, why-oh-why is Chemical King left out? He even includes Night Girl, (never actually a real Legionnaire), and Tryoc, (a Legionnaire for about 2 seconds), but no Chemical King? Wait a minute...he left out Matter-Eater Lad, too! Oh boy...um...forget I mentioned it!

A belated thank you for the add. Your favorite comics are very much some of my favorites, too, especially the Legion of Superheroes. Have you checked out "Kyle's Bed & Breakfast", the gay comic strip where the characters are often discussing the Legion? You'd probably enjoy it. The creator of it has a profile here on Comic Space, "KyleComics". Oh, for your boyfriend's daughter, have you tried "Archie", "Betty", "Veronica", etc? I'm amazed that kids still go wild for those comics.
