Update 07/11/07: In Short... I started a new job, full-time, outside the home and I have little or no free time. The money is great, though! I'm working as a machinist, manufacturing jet airplane engine parts. I would tell you the details, but then I'd be forced to kill you...

Trying to keep up with www.beautywithattitude.com is even tougher. And I need to do some serious updates there. So many cool comic-related movies out (FF4-2, Spider-Man 3, Transformers (which rocks HARD!), etc.), lots of new and interesting comics (Madame Mirage! Witchblade's new offspring!) and tons of cool action figures really need to be idolized in the site...

---

I've been a huge fan of comics since the '60s (Thor, Green Arrow, Batman, Superman, et al), but kind of set it all down to illustrate for myself... life is weird like that.

After becoming a web developer in 1996, and realizing that the WWW was where it's at, and getting published as a writer (both online and in print) it didn't take long for me to develop Beauty With Attitude.

Now I blog comics and anything related. I'm heavily into action figures, comic cards, movies, anime... the possibilities are endless. My current favs are (action figures, video games, comics and anime):

Tomb Raider (first love - hardcore)
Full Metal Alchemist (excellent storyline and animation)
Witchblade (yeah, a straight chick who digs T&A comics - go figure)
Anything by Michael Turner
Spawn (comics, action figures and movies)
Heroscape (strategy board game)
WarCraft and StarCraft (serious time waster)
Command & Conquer (any and all iterations)
Final Fantasy (VII and up - action figures, movies, games)
Star Wars (anything, just anything)
The Fifth Element (favorite movie)
Stargate (movie and some of the series)
Firefly/Serenity
The Lost Room
Lost
Star Trek (teaching myself to speak Klingon since 1970)
Ghost in the Shell (all iterations)
Kabuki
Aliens (the movie - Sigourney Weaver empowered me!)

I don't know if I have any hidden lesbian attributes but I collect beautiful women, in art, sculpture, and in film. I'm SO NOT a feminist, but I worked for years in non-traditional jobs for women (like the fact that I'm a certified heavy equipment operator) and have always appreciate women who are portrayed as strong without necessarily being bitches... not that I'm not a Bitch (note the capital 'B')... but women can be strong without acting like that, IMO.

Oh, and I have two sons, ages 13 and 9 who are constant inspirations for what I like and to remind me of what sucks...

I lived in Maine for one year back, oh, 1988 - 89, in Waterville, so it wasn't on the coast. We were expecting to be snowed under, but there really wasn't that much. At least right there for that year. So, uh, I guess there is no lesson there.

Your website looks great, well done with tons of great content. I hope you get the chance to add more. So count this as a "comment if you agree" comment.

Since I'm still a recent resident of Maine, not sure where Waterville is... yet. We're about 12 miles from the coast, or that's what it takes to drive there. Not a whole lot of snow this year. Not sure if I should be relieved or disappointed. Thanks for the compliment on the Beauty With Attitude. Now that I have a full-time REAL job (building aircraft engines), I probably will be challenged to get web-work in, but I'm sure I'll acclimate.
Keep up the great work!

Hi Lori,
Thanks for adding me as a friend.
We have similar tastes in action figures and comics.
I have a lot of the Tomb Raider and Danger Girl comics.
Have you read Rascals In Paradise by Jim Silke ?
I'll bet you would like it.
Talk to you soon.
Take Care,
Tom

Well, I don't think that makes you a lesbian. I find the female one of the best forms in the world to study! You know what I mean. ;-)

I agree!

As a ComicSpace friend, may I ask you to help support the Museum of Comic and Cartoon Art (www.moccany.org)? Become a member today! Thanks.

Thanks for the add! Hope some of my female characters will be famous enough to join your terrific line-up at some stage! (Lady Jeste from "The Spires" is just crying out for a place at the top table and Boo - due to appear in "Shades" very shortly - wouldn't be out of place either!) Until that day, thanks again, and I hope you can find something at my website that appeals!

Hello Lori! It seems we share interests in similar comic characters!

Thanks for being an Al Rio fan!
