I'm a journalist and fiction writer from Calgary, though I'd rather be living in Vancouver. I had left comics behind when the holographic, foil enhanced covers became more important than the stories and art found within. After a decade had passed, I wrote a DVD review of the short-lived Flash TV series and it rekindled an interest in the Scarlet Speedster and the other DC heroes I grew up with. I read DC, Marvel and independent comics and am impressed with the quality of today's books. When not reading comics, I can be found in Calgary's three arthouse cinemas, supporting the latest American indies, foreign and Canadian films, attending indie rock shows, theatre, poetry and fiction readings and watching Canadian football (I love my Saskatchewan Roughriders).
