Hello World!

I love to draw comics. I started drawing as soon as I could hold a pencil, often doodling on the back of scrap paper my mom would bring home from work.

I'm currently working on a book called Awesome Kitty Kingdom.

If you'd like to check some of my other stuff out, you can go to my site at okeefecreations.com or purchase my book from the Squid Works.

AND NOW FOR SOMETHING COMPLETELY DIFFERENT...

Inspiration

I want to thank you for coming over to look at my page. If you are a comic writer and/or artist, then we share something in common: a passion to tell a story through pictures.

I don't know about you, but I get all teary-eyed just thinking about how cool it is to be able to tell a story through comics. The neat thing about comics is that, unlike other industries and hobbies, each of us has at our fingertips all the necessary tools to tell a story with pictures. That is, at minimum, you need a pencil, paper, and an imagination.

So what separates the comic legends apart from the rest? What makes people like Tezuka Osamu, Eiichiro Oda (One Piece), Mitsuru Adachi (H2), Charles Shultz, Jim Davis, (insert your comic heroes) so special? Is it not that passion?

But that's the cool thing--we can get there too! And that's why I want to talk about inspiration. You've read this far so I'll close with saying: you can do it! Pick up your pencil and draw another page and let that story out for the world to see! Your story is worth telling! We are capable of so much beauty if we can just persevere, if we shut out the cannots and replace them with the "I will"s.

Best wishes,

Michael
