| Bulletin: | ![]() I have two inking positions open. The first one is an entry-level position for Austin area local artists and is an unpaid internship with opportunities for advancement and pay once you've proven you can competently ink and finish pages. The second is a paid position for those long distance with more experience and finesse. If you're local to Austin, please send an email to "thegirl at rivkah dot com" for more details and so that we can meet and discuss what you'd like most to get out of working with me, what you'd like to learn, and what you feel you have to offer. You must be over eighteen. If you are long-distance and interested in the second position, here's the lowdown: Inking Assistant: Job Specifications: Inking completed and penciled pages, polishing backgrounds, filling in details such as texture and shading, and completing small objects. Artist must display the ability not only to imitate the artist's current inking style, but also to enhance and instill their own creativity and sense of style. This is a paid position looking for polished inkers. You should have a basic understanding of anatomy, perspective, and the ability to make minor corrections. The inking style should be feminine, yet complete, with an eye for detail. Must be able to work at either 10"x15" size with a quarter inch bleed or, if working digitally, at 1200 dpi. If you'd like to apply for the position, please download the sample two-page spread (right click, save) for inking and fill out the following questionnaire. If inking by hand, both pages should be seperately inked at double their current size (roughly 10.5"x15.5"). If inking digitally, they must be inked at-size (5.25"x7.75") at 1200 dpi. Applicants must be 18 or older. Name: City, State: Roughly how long did it take you to ink this page? What were the easy parts, and what were the more challenging parts for you? What materials did you use? What is the difference between "bleed" and "trim"? Are you looking for long-term work or more short-term? Please send a 1200 dpi zipped tiff file plus completed questionnaire to "thegirl at rivkah dot com". If you'd prefer to arrange art to be sent by mail, if the file is over ten megabytes, or you don't have a very good scanner/computer to handle large files, please send me an email and I'll let you know where to ship it. :) If you can provide samples of previous work, that's a plus as well, but not required. Thanks to everybody who's already enquired! Good luck! -Rivkah |
