In a nutshell, I am an artist and, dare I say it, a filmmaker.
A Little Biography About My Comics Connection (A Comicography...?) I've been collecting comics and drawing them as long as I can remember, and just recently finished my first live in-print comics project DEAD EYES OPEN, a collaboration with writer Matthew Shepherd, courtesy of the fine people at Slave Labor Graphics, a creator owned projects paradise! I "got into the biz," so to speak, by way of webcomics. My first serious attempt at a project was the now defunct PLUGIN BOY, way back in 1999 (a lifetime ago in webyears), a story of a suicidal robotic teenage boy who can only live life plugged into a giant electrical wall outlet. It was the first project that actually had readers outside my little circle of family and friends. It was cool in an unabashed weird way. From that project I met Matt, and we collaborated on a comics project that didn't quite take off. From that failed, yet earnest, attempt, Matt hired me to draw THE LICENSE, an over the top action brawler comic series he was writing that was part of the GRAPHIC SMASH subscription comics site during most of 2004. It was also my first paid gig as a comic artist. After our stint at GRAPHIC SMASH, SLG had picked up our project DEAD EYES OPEN which debuted in July 2005. The six issue series wrapped up late last year, and now I'm kicking around several ideas in my head for a new project. The return of PLUGIN BOY is at the top of the list, but first I have to finish graduate school (May '07!!), because as Marge Simpson said, I made a "terrible life choice." Stay tuned! royboney's BulletinsDisplaying 1-1 of 1 bulletins...
