I'm in a similar boat. I work as a reporter for the local newspaper (and by proxy the associated press) and as a columnist for online magazines.... but to pay the bills I teach high school English/journalism/yearbook.

It's good to work with the kids, but it's stressful. It'd be nice to be able to pay the bills as a writer...

I'd love to do more professional writing, and I'm working toward that goal, but I'm content to also be teaching. If we could get the damn NCLB act revoked, teaching would be about ten times more productive though. but that's a different rant. :)
