| Bulletin: | Steve Price is a finalist the New Yorker’s 2009 Eustace Tilley Art Competition. Price’s illustration, entitled “Shach Treatment”, is a reinterpretation of the venerable magazine’s mascot, whose likeness was created by the New Yorker’s first art director, Rea Irvin, and for whom the annual contest is named. Selected from over three hundred entries, it is featured on the New Yorker’s website in a slideshow of twelve winning designs curated by New Yorker Art Director Françoise Mouly. Price, a former newspaper cartoonist, is known for his black and white illustrations and small press comic books, which include “The Corporate Ladder”, “One Man Thology”, “Karmikaze: Princess of Payback”, as well as contributions to the House of Twelve, Mauled, and Furrlough comics anthologies, and a t-shirt design for New York’s seminal punk band, the Ramones. | ||
