Hi, how are you? Our studio recently put a new site up. pencily.com is a great source of inspiration for illustrators, animators and designers, so I hope you find it as useful as we do!
All the best,

RE: 10 PAGE PREVIEW: VENGEANCE OF THE VAPOR #1
Yee-Haw! That's some great stuff Sal. It's like Deadwood meets the Lone Ranger. |

RE: ON LETTERING Read your blog on lettering and I like what you said. But are you hand lettering, or is this on computer? You never said. And if hand lettering what tools are you using? And what's your process? I used to hand letter, but lately my discipline for it has failed, so now I fall back on computer lettering - plus, I've been under the deadline gun lately, and I admit I can go faster on computer.
But I LOVE the feel and the look of hand-lettered original art boards. Although, I admit.... I do it mostly for my own satisfaction.
Anyway.... good on you, lad. 1 Reply [ Latest posted on March 1st, 2007 4:04 PM ]

Hey, Jimmy, thanks, man. I used to hand letter, but it made me a little crazy. When I did I used an Ames guide and a T-Square, albeit unsuccessfully. Hand lettering done right is a beautiful art, so maybe someday I can properly learn the art. Recently, I've done some hand lettering on personal strips, but these are freehand and kind of sloppy.
I use Illustrator these days, and I'm trying to learn some InDesign. There are still many tricks I'm learning on it, and it always fascinates me when I figure out something new.
Thanks again for reading, Jimmy! |

Except for the last two pages, these were new to me. I love the way this book is shaping up, and the preview pages at the Ape forum for issue two are insanely good! |

Hey Sal, it's been forever, what you up to other than the 'vengeance of the vapor" book? Hope you're doing well so far in the new year.

So far the New Year isn't bad, so that's cool. (Knocking on wood!) Besides VotV, I'm working on a OGN for Arcana and various other projects that are in various stages of completion. Plus I'm putting together a small production house to complement all of these projects with some others. |
