I grew up on DC Comics, the high action stuff. And since I got into reading Sherlock Holmes in the 4th grade, is it any surprise that my favorite comic book character is Batman? No, it shouldn't be.

In the 1990s, back when there were letter pages, I was so enthused that I wrote ... a few letters of comment. If you were reading DC books then, you might have seen a few. It was great writing practice. It was also a great way to get to be known by editors!

I had two stories published in the Shooting Stars Comics Anthologies, "Zeus' Box of Deceit" with art by Erik Burnham, and "Tsalosha", drawn by my pal Gordon Purcell. (I'm hoping to have PDFs of them on my website in the near future.)

I work in the film/television business in Hollywood, so comics isn't the only writing I'm into. In fact, you can find out much more about that on my website.

CONVENTIONS I'M PLANNING TO ATTEND
Wizard World LA
ComicCon International (San Diego)

My much more extensive website can be found at ScribblerWorks

I did some tweaking of my website, in preparation of new updates.
On MySpace, I've taken up doing "letters of comment", mostly of issues of comics, but occasionally throwing in a movie review, or other things.

Thanks for stopping by! I need to do some updating here, but haven't gotten around to it. Other than that, I've fortunately skipped the worst of the bugs running around.

Glad to have you on board! All writers should cultivate artists as friends. ;)

And vice versa. For without the words, we artists are a lost bunch. We don't know what to draw next! Thanks for the welcome.

Hi Sara. Sorry it took me so long to stop by and actually say, "Hi".

No problem. I was glancing at the GAAK pages yesterday - I didn't have time for an in-depth visit, but it's definitely on my list for more visits. Looks like you've got a fun thing going there!

This is the COOL place. ;)

I say that as one who does not have a mySpace account, and don't plan on getting one. Heh. (I'm already tracking line on four regular message boards, five friends' blogs, and my own website. Do I really NEED mySpace?

This is good for networking, though.

Sarah,

You are truly the best. I hope all is good with you.

Your amigo,

Beau

Hi, Beau! Thanks!

I'm a bit dragged out right now (busy work week), but I mean to enjoy the weekend. And again, cool about the kudos for COBB!

Happy belated birthday!

Thanks Scott! Since it was on a workday, I saved any "celebrating" for the weeking. So even belated greetings are fine!

By the way, Did you get my email about the package? Because I'd asked about the story files you mentioned. I realize you got a real life that would delay things (shocking, isn't it?), so don't worry about it. It's just that knowing the form you're sending them, and about when will let me plan when I want to put them on the website.

Anyway, thanks again!

Sarah,

Sorry about that. I have Monday off. I'll go through the discs and will send you both 300 dpi TIF files (for print) and a 72 dpi JPG files (for web) through a website that you can download them really easy. Thanks.

It's been a little nuts this week. Roxie has been on a business trip -- so the the munchkins and I have been holding the fort all by ourselves.

Hi Sarah,
Good form!

Thanks, Mike. I find it amusing that a creature such as that should be doing so much good for raising my profile in the business. Heee.

Gail's been praising your book so much, it's now on my agenda to go find copies! Looking forward to it, looks like fun.

That "Gail", always doing such reprehensible things. ;)

Let me know what you think when you read it. :)

hiya Sarah!,

thanks for the add and thanks for coming to my defense ( in a way) over on CBR! (I'm one of the guys stiffed by Olney!)

Welcome! Yeah, I think Olney needs exposing in the business. Obviously too many people have been "suffering in silence". GOOD people. He's toxic.

And it would be easy to continue ranting, but let's move on. The book I'm reading on sociopaths has 13 rules for dealing with them. And the 13th Rule is: Living well is the best revenge.

And that includes making and keeping friends!

(Here endeth the lesson.) ;)

Saw the old GAAK strip on the MMC site. And liked it. I'll be checking out some more - Dee sent me links to more current stuff.

Thanks for the add Sarah, it's nice the Olney thread had some positive results.

Yeah, I've been enjoying the gang on Gail's board. Expanding my circle of on-line acquaintences is fun.

Yes it has been quite an experience I am hoping this will start to mend some old fences and friendships that should have never beem severed. Hope you check out the IF site. Used to live in Cali back in the 70's used to go to Hollywood to Collector's and Cherokkees on Hollywood Boulevard. I think they may still be there.

Well, Chuck Dixon is a friend (I moderate his message board), so I scope out his added friends in order to broaden my own network. Heh. And you seemed interesting, and your artwork looked good.

Good luck with the writing.

Holy smokes!

You asked to be my friend before I had a chance to ask to be yours! :-)

Even though I am not a heavy poster "you know where", I still consider you an internet pal!

Thanks...

Sarah,
I got your note about archery. The Howard Hill bow sounds spectacular.

Personally, I haven't really shot on my own for quite a while. Though, about 2 months ago, I took my son and nephew to a boy scout camp where they learned to shoot a bow. I helped them. It was pretty fun.

That's cool about introducing the younger generation to it.

And yeah, actually the bow is very nice. I need to make a little more space in my schedule to get to the range, though.
