I've been dabbling in comics since 1999 when my first published credit appeared in Giant Shanda Animal #4.

I've been putting together a comic book pitch with an old friend for the indy comics contest, Small Press Idol. We've made it to round 3 and it's time for the public to weigh in. Please check it out at

Diary of a Teenage Heroine

If you think this looks like a fun project that deserves a chance, we'd appreciate it if you could register and vote Yes on our project in the Dimestore forums - you can vote once per day, and you can vote every day so returning support is appreciated!

Atomic Mouse Meets Power Jack is at the printers now and I'm waiting for my comp copies.

I do freelance art full time and have a pretty heavy interest in comic book storytelling, usually in the role of artist.

Printed comics bibliography:

Furry Ninja High School #2 (Shanda Fantasy Arts)
Furry Ninja High School Strikes Back #1 (Shanda Fantasy Arts)
Giant Shanda Animal #4, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 (Shanda Fantasy Arts)
Genus: Male #4 (Radio Comix)
Medics: Code 3 Special #1 (Shanda Fantasy Arts)

Hello

I'm forward to see your drawing on Shanda #46 and Medics. Your style of drawing is interesting. I'm happy your 'doom' in my list of comicspace. Smile.

Yeah. I ended using some of the unused Atomic Mouse scripts for my own Protecto comic strip, but it would be fun to do more!!

Hi there! We’re starting up this year’s Small Press Idol…and wanted to invite you to the grand unveiling of this year’s Guidelines. I apologize for the all-in-one nature of this. At this time, individuals and teams have a little over a month to get things together and be ready to post their Round 1 entries. Round 1 will last till March 25th. It’s a solid window to get a project together and qualified for Round 2 past our judge panel. If you are interested in being a contestant, this is fair warning to get a project going!
If you are a news outlet or resource of any sort, we invite you to help spread the word about Small Press Idol, and get on the official Sponsors and Supporters list on the Idol Main Page. Traditionally, the page has gotten hundreds of thousands of hits a month for the 5 months the contest runs. All we ask in return for the link placement on our prominently placed list, is a link back in some way that is fairly prominent, and that you indeed cover the contest if you are a news site. You can contact us about that right from the guidelines page.
Just want to watch the show? That’s great! Now is time to sign up at the site so you can VOTE in the rounds to come, and post comments about your favorites! We’re expecting hundreds of contestants this year. It should be a lot of fun!

Hope this message reaches you in the spirit it was intended, you are welcome to ask questions, and otherwise make sure this is for real. This is the fourth year for the SPI. Last year’s contest pages are still online. So that’s what this is about, hope it interests you!

Hello, and thanks for the add ... from a fan of your work who owns a stellar piece of original Loomis art, with Dawnstar solemnly embracing Wildfire over his (suit's) shoulders.

He's created striking stand-alone portraits of many other comics characters, folks, such as the Legionnaires, in addition to his projects noted at left. So do keep an eye out for SatyQ creations on eBay and elsewhere.
