ScottKoblish
I'm a cartoonist. I've been working in comic books, animation, storyboards, movies and advertising for the past 15 years, juggling them all like a madman in a vain effort to keep up with my ambition to continually grow as an artist. I've done storyboards for 3 independent films - two shorts and a feature length, I worked as an animator at the shortlived Stan Lee Media, worked in animation for two years on a web cartoon called Cancerhead, published my own comic -SK8/the 8 Immortals, I've penciled and inked the Jet Pack Pets for Disney Adventures for 5 years, I'm penciling and inking a long-term project for Platinum Studios and I've done a whole heckuva lot of inking for Marvel Comics, around 5,000 pages. Some of the books for Marvel have included runs on Thor, Hulk, Captain America, Electra, Excalibur, Marvel Adventures the Avengers, Last Planet Standing, Punisher, Doom 2099, Iron Fist and jeepers - even Sleepwalker and Blackwulf! I just got done with 5 issues of Avengers Next and am working on a bit of Heroes for Hire and Marvel Adventures Iron Man. So here's my big announcement!- My own book - a book where I'm doing the full pencilling and inking chores will be coming out this June- It's called The Weapon, written by Fred Van Lente, drawn by me and Colored by the incredible Paul Mounts. It comes out from Platinum Studios, under the Image solicits. I'm really excited - order a copy today! I have the pleasure of owning the loneliest myspace page on the planet, complete with some rough demos of a few of my songs: http://www.myspace.com/scottkoblishI've also got a very quiet blog, which no one visits - shhhhhh, be very quiet, my blog is asleep at http://koblish.blogspot.com/

Hey Scott! Good luck with The Weapon! My first published inking, in Eleventh Hour #1 from Orang Utan Comics is out now! It was chatting to guys like you and Tim Townsend on AOL all those years ago that really got me hooked on inking in the first place, thanks! |

Hi Scott,
I never knew you did so much...I thought you were just Mr Super-Inker-Dude, how you manage to cram everything else in defeats me. Clearly you have invented a time distortion machine (or just bought one of the rack. they'd sold out when I called) & managed to fit 50 hours into each day :)
Your MySpace music is terrific BTW.

Thanks Staz!
Unfortunately I haven't invented a time machine, I've just given up on sleeping and I hate being bored. Believe it or not, I have a 3 year-old too, so I'm amazed I get as much done as I do. Thanks for the kind words on the music, I appreciate it! I feel proud of the stunning amount of obscurity I've earned!
Scott-! |

Hey Scott, thanks for adding me.
This may seem like gibberish, but a couple years ago at SDCC you were on a panel that I seem to remember had some connection to webcomics. You'd mentioned your experience with Stan Lee Media, and went on to talk briefly about Flash and vector art. I leaned over to my girlfriend and said "this guy gets it". It was kind of an influential moment for me as at the time, I had literally just posted the first installment of my own Flash based comic the day before.
So, again, thanks! 1 Reply [ Latest posted on December 28th, 2006 1:53 PM ]

Sure! No problem! i think that must have been the Digital Comics documentary presentation. I think I torqued off a few people on that panel - not intentionally, mind you, but I don't think I made any friends there. Glad you were there and had some good feelings toward the whole thing. I'll check out your Flash comic when I get the chance - the holidays are beating me up a bit this year - still getting over the flu... |

Thanks for the add Scott. I loved Sleepwalker back in the day. Did you ink the first issue of Doom 2009? If so I've got a copy signed by the artist could you sign it too?

Hi Dub! I worked on Doom in the mid 30's-early 40's of that comic's run - I'm not sure who would have inked the first issue - maybe Bruce Patterson? |

Keep up the good work! Loved what you did on Last Planet Standing! And you get to ink Garney, you lucky s.o.b.! 1 Reply [ Latest posted on December 22nd, 2006 2:46 AM ]

Thanks Drew! The work I did over Ron Garney was over 10 years ago - maybe 12? It was a lot of fun though - and I'd do it again in a heartbeat. I think Ron's being aptly and ably inked by Bill Reinhold at the moment! Thanks for the kudos on LPS - Pat's a lot of fun to ink over - finishes or pencils- hope you're enjoying his stuff! I liked what you did over Scot Eaton - I never felt I got a good handle on what to do with his work- |

Hey, Scott! Good to "see" ya, man! It's been a long time!! Thanks for being my new friend here! I didn't know about your music abilities! That is so cool! I write, sing and play a little guitar too. I've been a Worship leader for over 12 years in Churches! Did you play at that Marvel Party way back when Mutant Jean Grey(?)got married? Hey Sergio! Good to "see" you too! It's been a very long time - you're no longer at the Kubert School? That was like a second home to you! I'll check out your website - I'm glad you're still outt there and that your art has improved and grown over all these years! I didn't know about your musical talents either! I played at a whole host of Marvel realated things in the 90's, but was usuially too obsessed with my own nerves and performance to notice what else was going on around me so maybe I did play at the "wedding" of those two characters...Scott! |
