I am Scott Alan, a professional cartoonist and humorous illustrator who has been drawing freelance my entire life.

I achieved my artistic skill level with no formal training or art background. Never been to school to learn what I do. I tell people "Every kid draws, I just never stopped". My work has been on T-shirt designs, logos, murals, posters, newsletters, theater posters; programs; and playbills, advertisements and more. I've collaborated on quite a few projects in quite a few ways over the years as well. Most notably have been my work with Phil Yeh and Cartoonists Across America & the World advertising literacy via comics and with David Fagan with our Frontispace project which deals with space exploration and early detection.

Recently I've become well known for my webcomic "Oh Brother!" which is a reflection of my real life and family based on actual situations and conversations we have shared. Oh Brother! focuses on my life with three older brothers having been raised in a truly dysfunctional family. While this may seem bleak I've learned to find the humor in the crazy antics of my family and transcribe that unique outlook into my work. Now in the second year, this strip is seeing great success online and in print. I hope for a universal appeal with this comic. "Oh Brother!" is more than a comic about dysfunction, it's also a comic about how individuals and family deal with that dysfunction on a daily basis. Equally it's just a comic about brothers being brothers and sharing a unique love hate relationship that all siblings everywhere can relate to on one level or another. If you have siblings, you can relate.

I'm always looking to educate myself further and try new things. Recently I finished three successful terms as President of Cartoonists Northwest an association of professional and amateur cartoonists, animators, and illustrators based in Seattle, WA. When not at my drawing table I find work and satisfaction in my acting and have appeared as a puppeteer, a clown, on television, and been seen in many community theater productions. I've been called a true presence in the world and online which is very flattering.
