Webcomic Idol Submissions are Open!

Every year my comic collective Bomb Shelter Comics hosts the Webcomic Idol contest. It's getting to be a big event in the webcomics community, and it's always proven to be a traffic bonanza for the top ten comics.

The contest is a six week voter-driven contest with crits offered to the creators by a panel of talented guest judges. This year the panel includes:

DJ Coffman - Yirmumah, Hero by Night, Flobots
Brad Guigar - Evil Inc., How to Make Webcomics, The Everything Cartooning Book
Xavier Xerexes - owner/chief reporter for Comixtalk
Jim Mahfood - Clerks comics, Grrl Scouts, Ultimate Team-Up, a crap-ton of other awesome comics

The winner of the contest gets automatic membership in BSC, free webcomic hosting along with a site redesign if they so choose; if the winner doesn't have one, we'll build it for the them. They also get crazy promotion from our media network and our internet webcomics news friends. All the comics selected for the top ten get major traffic boosts, and even those that lose get shown some major love. Everyone gets feedback from the pros. No cash prize or anything, but it's bigtime bragging rights along with the traffic, so there's really no reason not to give it a shot.

If you don't have a website, use a Comicspace account or a DeviantArt gallery - we'll look at those and give them the same level of attention.
