Howdy!

My name is Mathew Shockley (aka Shockmode), and I'm one of the co-creators PLB Comics, an independent comic book company located on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. I share managing duties with my brother Josh, who decided he wanted to start drawing comics (and ultimately lead a life of penniless misery) when he was seven. At the time, I was four. We both thought it was a good idea--hell, we still do. The result: almost twenty years later, PLB Comics is finally hitting it big (or so we like to think).

We just released our first professional issue, titled "PLB Comics Presents." It's a compilation of five different stories, illustrated and written by our small but awesome crew of misfits: Josh, myself, Mike Carmean, and Karlton Hargrove. We think it's pretty damn awesome, and so do some other folks (thankfully). Currently, we're in the process of working on the second issue.

Some of the characters in the stories have been around forever; others are brand spanking hot off the grill. There's a little romance, a little comedy, a lot of good damn writing, and an outrageous amount of violence and action. . Prepare for the Extreme!

I draw and write my own stories, but I really like to work collaboratively with Josh and Karlton. The Fall is a character Josh and I created a while ago, and I wrote, drew, and inked his story. Portal 317 is a collaborative story that Josh wrote, I drew, and he inked. Gideon and Sebastian are characters of mine that I drew and inked, and Karlton supplied the story for. I'm not gonna tell you the plots, so you're gonna have to visit the website or buy the book! Those are my marketing skills at work...
