What Are You Reading This October?
Category: Writing and Poetry

ShriekFreak Quarterly - (reprinted from previous bulletin) If you're a fan of horror like I am and appreciate the entertainment and effort that goes into a publication by fans, for fans, then ShriekFreak Quarterly is for you!

"Necrotic News & Notes" keeps you up to date on what's coming soon in the way of horror entertainment. "Monstrous Movies" gives you the quick and dirty on what's worth watching. "Sinister Sirens" introduces you to a bloody, burlesque beauty while "Make-up Mayhem" teaches you how to create a burn victim without striking a match. "The Authentic Sounds of Count Smokula" will have you choking with giggles as "Tattered Tunes" takes you on a journey through 4 albums (yeah, they're CDs, but the industry still calls 'em albums) that us Shriek Freaks would enjoy. The "Interrogations" with J LaRose and Andrea Dean Van Scoyoc are informative, informal and fun. "Blasphemous Books" puts forth good, direct reviews and is a natural lead-in to the horror short story, "Justice Comes with the Moon". "Eviscerating Events" keeps you apprised of the events and conventions that may be lurking near you. "Gory Goods" is an excellent way to get the horror artisan in touch with a wider customer base. "Web of Terror" tells you what places you can kill a few hours with on the InterWeb. "Gallery of the Grotesque" introduces new artists and their first, Sami Hunter, is quite impressive at her age! If you're a fiend for the four-color entertainment like me, then "Creeptacular Comics" is your bag ... and board! They'll keep you posted on what's coming soon to a comic retailer near you. "Horror We Doin' or E.C. Rider" is an EXCELLENT article presenting the brief history of EC, the absolute final word in horror comics.

I've read ShriekFreak Quarterly No. 1 and have thoroughly enjoyed it. I can't wait to get my mitts on the second issue! For a print copy, it'll cost ya $8. If you're a little tight on dinero, but still need your horror fix, $3 will score you the PDF download. Support ShriekFreak Quarterly because a magazine by fans, for fans is made with a true passion and love for the horror genre.
