I've been a freelance drawrer guy for 20+ years. I've been a reader and collector of all things comical since the late Silver age. Over the years I have done comic book like work for various commercial clients such Sun Microsystems, Kryptonics and Visa. A few years back I did a pile of stuff for Cartoons magazine right up until it folded in '91 after a 30+ year run. Currently I am illustrating an issue of Luna Moonhunter. You can see what that is about by checking out the link in my favorite galleries. I am also involved in creating fully painted artwork for a forthcoming digital comic. That should be ready by the end of the year. When time allows I contribute to a great lil' 'zine called Megazeen. Check it out, it's a hoot. In general my time is pretty well taken up with drawin' and paintin'. Yet I still make time for some Halo and any cool movie, be it past or present, that crosses my path. You can check out my purdy pictures at Slemons Illustration as well as Jae Wagoner.

Rude Awakening
This is a soon to be published venture. It should be out in late Spring or so of '08. At present it is under 35 pages. So for now there is no text, it is simply here for your viewing pleasure.
Galleria Fanboy
This is the section that showcases the work done just for the heck of it. Hopefully I can keep adding new work on a semi regular basis.
David & Goliath
The classic story is retold in a slightly different manner. These were done as sample pages for the client. Initially they wanted a manga look, which of course I dont think this is. It's more of a distant cousin to manga. I call it Slemga.
Megazeen
Here you will find several varying pieces of work that were done for this very fun 'zine.
Hero TV
Here are 8 pages that were done for an upcoming issue of Hero TV from Community Comics. Look for it sometime this summer. There is no text but basically the baddie, Gravitron, comes calling and lots of things get broke and explode.
Hollow Earth
These illustrations were done for the Hollow Earth Expedition, a pulp adventure RPG. It's basically a Lost World Scenario chock full of dinosaurs, nazis, and treasure seeking adventurers.
Secrets of the Surface World
This is the follow up installment to the Hollow Earth.
Zombie Toons
When a zombie is behind the wheel, get out of the way. That's about all I can tell you about this one. The other stuff is just for the sake of silliness.
Vinyl
This was a mini comic done for Kryptonics back in the mid 90's. It was used to promote a new wheel for rollerblades. The original B&W art is a bit different from the printed version that follows it. See if you can catch what was changed.

Thanks for the add. Your work rivals anything i've seen by Wrightson or Frazetta. You're an incredible artist and yeah, i agree that the cover for MZ #15 is amazing. 1 Reply [ Latest posted on March 31st, 2007 9:54 PM ]

Thank you for the compliment but Wrightson and Frazetta are legends I can only aspire to. Glad you liked the MZ cover. |

Jeff The new Hollow Earth stuff is great. I reminds me of the early sketches of Frank Frazetta's of E.R. Burrough's Pelucidor books. Lance |

The Zombie Behind the Wheel is so reminiscent of Will Eisner and the Creepy-Eerie-EC thing as to be uncanny. MAN! You can DRAW!! Thanks for "adding" me to your friends list. |

Man, I can't stop going through your galleries! All I can say is Frazetta, Stout and Schultz better watch their asses or you'll be taking all their work. 1 Reply [ Latest posted on February 9th, 2007 4:26 AM ]

That's nice of you to say but I'm afraid they are giants in the field. Particularly Frank. He is one of the few who could capture action at it's zenith in an unlabored manner. A true master. Which gives me something to aspire too all the while keeping me humble. |

I love the dinosaur sketches. They remind me of those old sci-fi comics and novel covers from the 50's. |
