Hi! I'm the writer and co-creator of two original English language manga. One is a webmanga, the other is a printed manga.

The webcomic is a shoujo manga called GROUNDED ANGEL. You can find it in three different places.

Cover:

I'm on DrunkDuck, Graphic Smash and Webcomics Nation.

The print manga is called STRONGARM and debuts February 28 from Image Comics. It's on pages 140-141 of the December Previews and the order number is DEC061866.

Cover:

Issue 2 comes out March 28 and is in the January Previews with an order number of JAN071946, and Issue 3 comes out April 25.

If you're a retailer, comic book reviewer or comic book professional, and want to see a free PDF or JPG preview of STRONGARM #1, send me a private message on here and I'll hook you up.

Thanks for visiting, and feel free to send a friend request!

UPDATE 01-25-07:
Cover images now on ComicSpace!

The praise keeps rolling in for STRONGARM!

Chuck Dixon (CONNOR HAWKE: DRAGON'S BLOOD):
"An exciting synthesis of manga and more traditional western-style storytelling. Loads of action and some intriguing mysteries tightly woven into a fast paced story that asks a lot of questions I hope will be answered in upcoming issues. It's a gutsy move; dropping us cold into a violent universe of half-human monsters and utopian cityscapes. But rather than confusing me, this initial story makes me ask for MORE!"

Ted Slampyak (JAZZ AGE):
"Steve tells a compelling story through a good use of a variety of viewpoints. He goes beyond the technology and the fight scenes to give glimpses into the hearts and minds of his characters. This is an intriguing first issue, and promises a fascinating adventure to come!"

Tim Demeter (RECKLESS LIFE):
"I view a lot of Western-born manga like the Taco Bell next to the authentic Mexican restaurant. Why bother with the generic version when the real deal is right there? Strongarm does not fall into this particular trap. Horton and Ahn deliver great action, crazy technology, and hot girls, but that doesn't cause it to read like some manga fan-fiction. The plot thickens almost as quickly as the action moves, and leaves you with a cliffhanger I dare you to say no to."

Graveyard Greg (DUNGEONS & DENIZENS):
"Strongarm is action, adventure, big explosions, and something that makes the Witchblade look like a toy dagger. Also of note is somehow, the cellphones haven't shrunk to microscopic size, which means there's hope for the world, and the fabulous team of Horton, Ahn, and Lowe have brought it to us!"

No problem! Image creators gotta stick together!

Grounded Angel is nice, indeed! I tell you, people don't often appreciate the subtle differences in manga, and often the purposely created deisgn and storytelling. Ground Angel hits all the right marks for the right themes. Well done, lad!

Steve, Thank you for the add and the nice compliment on the lettering for our Flashback Universe comic - I lettered that myself, and it was my first *real* attempt at lettering. :)

Looking forward to your STRONGARM Image Debut in February!

Hi there! We’re starting up this year’s Small Press Idol…and wanted to invite you to the grand unveiling of this year’s Guidelines. I apologize for the all-in-one nature of this. At this time, individuals and teams have a little over a month to get things together and be ready to post their Round 1 entries. Round 1 will last till March 25th. It’s a solid window to get a project together and qualified for Round 2 past our judge panel. If you are interested in being a contestant, this is fair warning to get a project going!
If you are a news outlet or resource of any sort, we invite you to help spread the word about Small Press Idol, and get on the official Sponsors and Supporters list on the Idol Main Page. Traditionally, the page has gotten hundreds of thousands of hits a month for the 5 months the contest runs. All we ask in return for the link placement on our prominently placed list, is a link back in some way that is fairly prominent, and that you indeed cover the contest if you are a news site. You can contact us about that right from the guidelines page.
Just want to watch the show? That’s great! Now is time to sign up at the site so you can VOTE in the rounds to come, and post comments about your favorites! We’re expecting hundreds of contestants this year. It should be a lot of fun!

/Idol07/index.html

Hope this message reaches you in the spirit it was intended, you are welcome to ask questions, and otherwise make sure this is for real. This is the fourth year for the SPI. Last year’s contest pages are still online. So that’s what this is about, hope it interests you!
