Petition to get DC to finish collecting Garth Ennis and John McCrea's Series Hitman:

(As you may be aware, DC comics has yet to trade the last thirty-two issues of Garth Ennis' and John McCrea's series Hitman. The series ended in 2001, and so far there have been trades up to issue 28 of its sixty issue run (it's my understanding that only 2 of these are still in print, though I could be wrong about that).

At any rate, it is clear that, unless there is demand from the public for them to do so, DC will not be collecting the last half of the series.

I have started a petition to hopefully convince DC that there is a market for the Hitman trades, and I hope you will add your name. If you're a fan of either Garth Ennis or Hitman, you should sign on the general principle that this series should be readily available for new readers to discover. If you've never read an issue of Hitman in your life, you have an even better reason to sign, because you missed out on something great.

All the signatures will be sent to dcdirect@dccomics.com on 03-01-2007.

Please sign. Thanks for all your help.

Certain profound truths:
-Douglas Adams perfected the run-on sentence to an art form.
-Rescue Me is the best show on television
-Matt Fraction will always rock your socks off.
-Hitman is the single most criminally underrated comic ever.
...more profound truths will be posted upon their discovery.

I’m going about, inviting anyone and everyone, to participate in the greatest show in Indy Comics: Small Press Idol 2008. Last year, over 100 teams competed for the chance to be published, and dozens of the top projects have been appearing in Mysterious Visions Anthology. 3 of the other top projects have been picked up by 3rd party publishers, and a couple others are also now with the Dimestore Imprint. This year, we’re upping the ante. With a very small entry free, we’re going to have a CASH PRIZE for the winner, as well as a publishing deal.
Sounds interesting? Anyone who is not currently being published by a “name” company, who is not making a living making comics, is eligible. So if you have a webcomic you’d like to rework a bit into a comic…entering will grab you lots of new eyes on your work. Self published issues haven’t been selling great? Kick it up a notch, and see how it stacks up in the spotlight.
The Guidelines for this year’s contest are here:

If you can pass this message forward to anyone, anywhere, we can blow the lid off this thing!

Thanks for checking out my reviews. I'll be adding the review for the fourth issue of Ant-Man within this week so I hope you enjoy that one!

While I never read Hitman, that annoys me that they wouldn't collect a whole series. Sounds like Justice LEague Elite all over again (my friend is still waiting for volume 2) I'll be glad to sign the petition.

Thanks for your support, I really recomend hunting down some back issues if you've got the time. Particularly the story arcs "local hero", "for tomorow" and "the old dog"

Comics I'm picking up this week:

CIVIL WAR#6, $2.99
IRRIDEEMABLE ANT-MAN#4, $2.99
(getting these two a week late because of the allocations on the west coast. I'm really looking forward to Ant-Man, but my interest in civil has pretty much cooled.)

WELCOME TO TRANQUILITY #2
NIGHTLY NEWS #3 (OF 6) $2.99
AGENTS OF ATLAS #6 (OF 6) $2.99
HELLSTORM SON OF SATAN #4 (OF 5) (MR) $3.99

PUNISHER #43 (MR) $2.99
(If I don't receive my weekly allowance of Garth Ennis I could slip into a coma. I don't know if that's true, but I believe it.)

RUNAWAYS #23 $2.99
(Love this book.)

SQUADRON SUPREME HYPERION VS NIGHTHAWK #1 (OF 4) $2.99
THUNDERBOLTS #110 $2.99

if you're so inclined, feel free to drop a comment about what comics you are buying this week. I'd love to get some dialoge going here.
