But we can- just use the BBCode for images, and place it in your profile. True you have to host the image somewhere, but we do have the ability to put pictures up. :) 2 Replies [ Latest posted on January 19th, 2007 12:48 PM ]

Thank you for adding me as a friend. Your art-work is to die for. I just adored going through your comic, non-comic, and design works. I especially got a kick out of your Tu-vac pic (very funny, which i supose I prove there was somebody out there watching Voyager. *cough*)
Anyways thanks again!

i guess in order for someone to admit they like/get the joke, they must also confess to being familiar with voyager! i don't know what venue i can ever show that painting in OTHER than the comic-con art show! |

My one hope is that you do look at people's profiles, and click their links to see if you enjoy their work. Having friends, and being a fan of comics is a great thing, but being able to devote some time to looking at people's work is also important too, especially at a place that's meant to be a bridge between comic creators and fans. There are other places that are solely devoted to making friends, but there are not many places where you can be in a group of artists and talk with them about their work, or see their work.
I hope that makes sense, and it's in no way an insult. If you are geniune, it will be aparent no matter what.
Thank you for the add. 2 Replies [ Latest posted on December 21st, 2006 7:33 PM ]

Hi Spooky Chan.
I do both. I meet friends and learn about artists and artwork. What interesting to me is that you would ask me this question. Maybe I need ask same question of you? I not want to have argument (I get enough of those in my private emails this week!). But if you would have taken the time to look at my profile and the links at the top of the page-they would have taken you to a Yahoo Group called PinUpHeaven which is devoted to NOTHING but talking about art and artists, most of the time with the artists themselves. (there are somewhere between 400-500 professional artists who are members of my group).
And you are right. Many people don't take the time to really try to know someone here. They see my photo-they see how many friends I have and then automatically judge me. Or, they question me.
Some how little facts like I have run a discusion group successfully for almost five years with close to 20,000 members-devoted solely to art and artists rights are ignored in favor of giving me a lecture on how I should look and act.
As I have pointed out before. I wonder (and doubt) that the same reactions would happen if I was a 45 year old white guy with a hat and beard (and before 45 year old white men with hats and beard start to complain that I insult them-I like 45 year old white men with beards. I even have a good friends who fit that description). But because I don't fit what people think I should look like-then there must be something wrong.

Sandra:
I hope my last post not sound angry to you. I tell you truth. I just tired today. I worked all day (lettering a comic book story) and wasted too much time answering emails from people who just wanted to make trouble with me here. So I just frustrated and it not to you...and yes. I saw your Deviant account and I LOVED your artwork!

Thanks for adding me back. =D
I love your art-work, it's insanely awesome. I always look forward to randomly picking up your titles and just oogling your yummy comic pages. They're wonderfully macabre, fresh, messy and intuitive.
I'm looking forward to picking up more of your beautiful works. Take care,

Hey there Christopher! Thanks for the lovely compliments.
I was looking over your comics in HM #2 and #3. Awesome stuff. I especially liked "groundskeeper's secret," for it's sweet and touching ending. (It brought a smile to my face. ^_^)
I look forward to seeing more of your stuff in the future. ^^ I'll have to check out Ghouly Boys sometime soon. :)
take care!

So say if i got picked up by Vertigo, my art work would be automaticly ugly? Just like that? (who knows you probably already think my work is ugly.)
My point is that generalizing is a good way of missing out on fantastic stuff and making enemies in the comic world. I mean there are a lot of good artists who work for Marvel and DC, and to say their work is ugly as a whole is unfair to them. You should always take books on a case by case basis, never because of who they're published with. (Be wary, some of these artists happen to be on this web site, so you better be careful who you 'friend.')
Just some thoughts I'd thought i'd share. |

"I'm anti DC and Anti Marvel."
Why is this? Do you not like Vertigo comics? |
