Note: Blind friend requests will be ignored; I'd like to meet people, but I'd also like to know who it is I'm meeting, and I'd like to meet people who are interested in conversing rather than just adding me as a friend.
Back on topic... Considering I'm absolutely atrocious at writing any sort of synopsis, I'll let this brief piece take care of my origins: Look, up in the workshop! A student? Yes! A math major? No! It’s The Writer— Quick! Strong! Circumlocutory! Once a mere mild-mannered man, our hero was forever changed by the alliterative rare and radioactive reading bug, imbuing him with superhuman reading speed! Impenetrable cynicism! The ability to trump huge egos with a single word! Wishing to make good poetry synonymous with that which he read, and aided by his ever-present Keyboard of Justice, our hero took up the fight against poor poetry, rising illiteracy, and those who would murder syntax. Rest soundly, dear citizens, for, wherever a crime against English is committed, you can be sure The Writer’s wrath is never far behind. ------ Originally a writer of prose, I later turned my sights towards poetry and--most recently--graphic novels. An idea for a short story quickly spun out of control into my latest project, "Legend," the story of a young man imbued with fantastic power at the cost of realizing his strength alone can't stem the pain of the world. I'm currently looking for a penciller and inker for the project, but, as I'm a college student and fairly poor, I'll probably relegate myself to pitching a text-only submission to Dark Horse. Apart from writing, a few of my other passions include heavy metal (if you couldn't tell from the hair), guitar, Japanese (entering my fifth year of study, and can translate decently from Japanese to English), and, of course, someone I believe to be my soulmate. I'm living in Japan right now, which is seventeen hours ahead of Pacific daylight time, so my apologies if I don't respond to your messages right away--it's the time difference, honest! I'd also like to offer my services in critiquing any prose, poetry, or sequential art on a one-for-one basis (i.e. I'll critique a piece of your choice for you critiquing something of approximate length from mine). All genres apply; I may not be a seasoned veteran, but I have enough experience under my belt to where I can critique the story from a fairly objective viewpoint. If you'd like to do so, drop me a line; if not, then fair's fair. For any artist who's stumbled across me within the sea of writers, I'll soon be posting samples of prose and examples of script below. I'm willing to collaborate, or, as the rarity may be, work for pay. Either way, give it a read, and I'll be happy to do the same for you. -Kaden |
