I've been a professional illustrator for years now (too many to admit to), having created artwork for everything from storyboards to greeting cards to theme park design and roleplaying games.

In 2002, I launched Athena Voltaire (with Paul Daly and Chad Fidler) online. AV ran online for a couple of years and was honored with an Eisner Award nomination (Best Digital Comic, 2004) and by being included in St. Martin's "The Year's Best Graphic Novels, Comics & Manga" (2004 edition).

Today, we're happily plugging away at Ape Comics. The Collected Webcomics and our initial print miniseries, Flight of the Falcon, for which I received a Russ Manning "Most Promising Newcomer" nomination at the 2007 Eisner Awards, are in stores now.

Chad now shares color duties with Jason Millet. I'm still drawing and take over the writing duties with the release of Black Coat/Athena Voltaire One-Shot, coming in early 2009 from Ape.

Two Pulp-tastic Heroes. Two Complete Stories. Two Centuries. Two Dollars! Find out what a Revolutionary-era Crusader and 1930's Aviatrix have in common, besides their status as two of Ape's most exciting heroes! An adventure spanning two centuries: from The Black Coat facing down a pirate attack to Athena Voltaire encountering the horrifying consequences of the treasure they sought. The two variant covers by Eisner-award nominee Steve Bryant combine to form a poster image! It's an action-packed crossover 150 years in the making!

The Black Coat/Athena Voltaire One-Shot is in Diamond Distributors' Previews catalog now. Preorder it today!

Here's all the ordering info your retailer needs to get copies of these books in your hands:

Black Coat/Athena Voltaire One-Shot is 32 pages (28 story pages) and retails for $2.00 Order codes DEC083748 (Athena Voltaire cover) and DEC083747 (Black Coat cover)

In 2008, I expanded my comics work, drawing a one-shot for the television series 24. 24: Cold Warriors, published by IDW, and written by the amazing Beau Smith, removed Jack Bauer from of his familiar Los Angeles setting, sending him to Alaska.

In addition to my Athena Voltaire work, I'm currently drawing an adaptation of Oscar Wilde's Canterville Ghost for Classical Comics. I'm fortunate enough to be again collaborating with Jason Millet, who handles the incredible painterly colors.

I'm frequently asked if I'm available for commissions—I am! My commission price list can be found here.. You can view a gallery of my completed commissions here.

In my spare time, I hang out with my awesome 7-year old son.

Visit my blog for previews of new projects, commissions, sketchbook drawings, interview alerts and ordering info for my various projects. Please check out Athena Voltaire on ComicSpace! While you're at it, visit Ape Comics on ComicSpace, too! For the latest up-to-the-minute news on our favorite aviatrix, visit the Athena Voltaire blog.

Thanks, Beddy!

Am I mistaken, or are you one of the folks on the Wizard boards who have helped support our little dog and pony show, too?

If so, thanks for that as well!
