Me:
Web Designer by day, Sequential Artist by night...

I've had a life-long love affair with comic art and fantasy literature, as well as an education in both hand-drawn and digital animation.

The White Rose:
The White Rose is my first real foray into traditional pencilling and inking technique. It's a graphic novel project that I've been plotting, scripting and thumbnailing in my spare time and on the subway for over two years.

The character was inspired in part by two quotes:

"In the driest whitest stretch of pain’s infinite desert, I lost my sanity and found this rose." ~Rumi

and of course...

"What's in a name? That which we call a rose
By any other word would smell as sweet."

~ Shakespeare -- From Romeo and Juliet (II, ii, 1-2)

Plot Synopsis:
Orphaned in a time of war and raised on a small farm in the south, her true home is far to the north in a land of ice and snow. She is heir to a legacy of powerful magic of which she is totally unaware. Last heir of a powerful matriarchy that guarded the world and protected it from shadow. The power that overthrew that line has sought her for many years, in many lands.

She is tall and athletic with white hair and pale blue eyes. The common people call her the White Rose after her habit of dropping a white rose next to the corpses of her kills. They also call her the White Pilgrim, and other names.

She herself does not know her name.

Her name was taken from her by agents of her enemy in a sorcerous ritual which left her without her memory. So complete was the sorcery that no one who ever knew her can remember it either, as if her name never existed.

Rescued from the aftermath of the ritual by her companion, another refugee from her lost land, she recovered her strength and discovered new abilities, among them a talent for swordplay. What she does not realize is that despite the ritual, she is also coming of age and developing the powers of her foremothers.

With her companion, she sets out on a quest to avenge herself on those who wronged her, and which will also reveal her true identity and the task for which she is ultimately destined...

Thanks for the kind post on my projects. I'm working hard to get them on the shelves, hitting cons, forums, websites, etc.

Every compliment makes that effort worthwhile!

Thanks! I'm glad you liked the jam. I think I'm going to try to make it a regular thing. I'll be at Pittsburgh in a couple of weekends and will see about starting another there. The SPX one was a blast, and it got to the point where people were seeking me out to get in on it. That's always a good sign.

The Rosario Dawson story really isn't that exciting. She was at Heroes Con last year and I saw her and asked for a picture. And she's even prettier in person than she is in the movies, as far as I am concerned. And a nerd girl to boot. Who could ask for more!

Cheers!
