Developing Character

How's it goin'?

My name's Ed and I just wanted to introduce myself alittle bit before you go looking at my shit.

The very first comic book I ever read was "The New Teen Titans" issue #10 "Promethium Unbound" by Marv Wolfman and George Perez.

All of the titans were standing on the cover on a target and a missle was headed straight down on them. This had been one of the few times I had been allowed to go out alone (age 10) and I headed straight for the neighborhood candy store. My intentions were to spend my $.50 on lemon heads, peanut chews and jelly fish, but when I saw that cover - it was all over.

I don't know what it was - the colors, the tag line, the black guy on the cover that didn't look like a pimp or a huslter - I don't know, but that was my wabbit twap - and I've been caught ever since.

The only thing that made my love for comics greater, was my eventual desire to put one out of my own. Bad news was I couldn't draw - not even stick figures. Thousands of stories running through my head for years without an outlet - regulated to spectator.

The option to try and explain your vision to an artist that didn't share it was there - but never blossomed into anything.

One day while playing with a digital camera I finally found a way to put together my vision or at least a close sense of it.

Here, I write stories in the vain from periods in comics I grew up loving. From the brilliance of Claremont's X-men or the family bonding of Stan & Jack's Fantastic Four - My universe is loosely based on those times and some of the current - but mostly just stories from thoughts of what I would have done - all using action figures and my second love - music.

Thanks for the add. Not to be too shameless, but I'd like to point you to my current comic Dusk - http://dusk.ambrosiapublishing.com/. I'm honestly looking for good solid feedback on the story. I'm even willing to make trades for reviews and/or exposure. I'd be willing to link swaps or even write a script in trade.

Hey, Ed. I admire your commitment to getting your vision out there despite the obstacles that have been placed in your way. I'm looking forward to checking out more of your stuff when I have the time.
